Love Soulshine! Came here for the first time and was impressed by the service and quality of food. We ordered the Barefoot Babies, Sushi & Falafel sliders (the falafel were the buns!). I would definitely order the Barefoot Babies again, next time I go I'm going to try their pizza & bowls. This place opens up all their windows which is nice to catch a cool breeze (no AC, it does get pretty hot in the summer) but it does allow annoying foot traffic noise and fly's to come in (we have to shoo some away for most of our meal which was annoying). Also parking can be tricky here so it's best to come during the week or during off hours.

Our waitress was super nice. The food took a really long time to come (~45 minutes) and was ok. A few other tables that came after us got their food first which seemed a bit odd considering they ordered the same things. Everything on the menu is gluten-free and vegan, so if you have dietary restrictions it makes ordering really easy. My only problem is that some vegan food is heavy in soy and processed ingredients, which we could kinda feel in our stomachs after we ate here.

Y'all, this place is so wonderful! Came to San Diego for a long weekend and found this place when looking for a vegan breakfast spot. Their breakfast sandwiches are phenomenal, and coffee is on point! We got the herb biscuit sandwich, the bagel Sando, lavender latte and mocha latte. Everything was delicious! Definitely worth a stop when you're in the area!

SOULSHINE VEGAN CAFÉ BRUNCH review🌮🍞

I recently tried this new-to-me dive in Mission Beach, San Diego and want to share my honest thoughts. Most reviews seem to just be on lunch and dinner but this review is only on their brunch offerings.

For food, my friend and I got the Nuevos Rancheros tacos, Elvis Toast, and California Dreamin' plates. Also my friend and I got the tumeric ginger shots. They were tiny but powerful! I'd recommend if you want to give your body a little warming boost!

The tacos are super colorful but unfortunately they fell a little flat. There's potential for many flavors to stand out but the food was not salted at all. That could be remedied but unfortunately what could not be remedied was the texture of the tacos. They were also WAY too soft and the contents were all mushy. 🌮😕

What saved my visit was the buckwheat toast with peanut butter, banana, jam drizzle, and chia seeds.🤩 It might sound basic but @soulshinemb is entirely gluten-free!!! So, not only was this the first toast I've had in a while but the first YUMMY TOAST made on soft, not-hockey-puck-dense, gluten-free bread! I even asked if they sold their bread and at this time they do not so I'd legit go back just for this toast! 😋

My friend ordered the California Dreamin' which he reported as being flavorless. He added salt and hot sauce as well but mentioned that the waffle sandwich was just too soggy to enjoy. Thumbs up for trying but this brunch missed the mark. I'd be willing to try...

Brioche was as thick/dense as a doughnut, not airy like it should be. Tiny sausage patty. $14, wow! Super slow service, no love (like the title says) finally got our food, another 5 minutes to correct hot americano into cold. 2 of us had food in a dine-in basket, but somehow my friend got his food in a to-go box.

If your name says coffee serve it!! Espresso, americano is not drip!! Got 2 shots, could not taste any espresso.

The cashier mentioned she doesn’t eat vegan food, why work in vegan only spot.

Just because it’s a “vegan only” place, should not be your motivation to buy here. Pretty much every other MUCH better restaurant on mission blvd serves vegan options.

Olive cafe a few blocks away, blew us away the next day! Delish Banana bread coffee amazing avocado toast and more for under $10 breakfast.

Soulshine needs to source better edible quality food and offer it at reasonable $$

*ohh and it was a dirty,...

Long-time vegans visiting San Diego - delighted to find this place on Google and eager to try it. Deeply disappointed. Neither of us enjoyed the food - but that is a personal preference thing and I fully concede we may have enjoyed a different choice. The coffee - freshly brewed - was superb. Unfortunately, I think we inadvertently annoyed the owner/manager. I explained we had a small dog and were directed to the patio, as I expected. We waited for service. My spouse went inside to get the ball the rolling - wanting to get our coffee while we waited. Server insisted she would serve us at the patio. OK. But then the wait for everything was long. So one star for service - the extra star is for the great coffee. I'd honestly planned to return here often over our stay, but no - we won't be back. We felt...
