Disappointing experience at Amici's East Coast Pizzeria-Pier 39. A table with a view was available but the server refused to give it to us and place other people to this table with view who already they sit at a table. After sitting at the table vacant by the people who just moved to the table with view the server (male) start talking with other people at other table and ignore us. I need to stand up and place the order to the bar for pizza etc. because was Sunday night late hour almost closing and we were hungry. Because he saw me I place the order at the bar, he come at the bar and ask me : What happened ? I told him to go back because is too busy conversating with other customers and let me place my order. After I order the pizza and we were waiting there at the table with my family of 3 and they forget about us. Nobody bring us utensil or either a glass of water . I need to stand up and talk with one of the employee at the bar who was nice and take care of us bringing the utensil, glass of water, salad, pizza, beer. I was charge for a glass bottle of beer Large Stella non-alcoholic $ 9.70 ($7.75 +$1.95 SF surcharge 4.85 %) and I told them I want an alcoholic beer , they change it but they bring me the beer in a cup glass not bottle. Salad is small portion around $14 and Pizza 10 '' x14 '' Smog $29.75 with added Pepperoni extra $2.70 Detroit style who is ticker and is made by cutting pieces of bread and was HORRIBLE barely we with a slice because we were hungry but the rest of pizza end up in trash. The worst Pizza I ever eat in my life. Stay Away !!! from Amici's...

This place was terrible, and I didn't even eat here. Walked in at 3:32pm on Monday afternoon, just for a slice of pizza. Coincidentally, happy hour started at 3:30. Took us a few minutes to get seated, there was only 1 person waiting in front of us to place an order and an almost empty dining area (only 6 tables had people seated ). Got seated and the waitress could "not find" the happy hour menu, but told us our options and we ordered 2 slices and 2 sodas (didnt catch her name but she had glasses and a heavy accent). Placed our order around 3:40 and by 4o clock our food wasn't there yet. Waitress never returned to check on us, around 4:10 a different waiter comes to take our order but we tell him we already placed it. He tells us to give him a few minutes while he checks it out.
Meter was up at 4:50pm so at that point we just left. Stopped by for a "quick bite" and they couldn't even get that right. I dont reccomend this place to ANYONE.
This is the service given on a SLOW WEEKDAY, I cant imagine a weekend. Picture of our 2 sodas and NOTHING else...
Read moreWe decided to come here after touring the Alcatraz island and were very hungry. We were ignored at the door for several minutes before being seated, and then were ignored for another several minutes before being greeted by our server who took our food orders, he seemed to struggle with taking six orders nearly walking away after only half of our orders, and we asked for waters all around. Food and drinks came out at the same time and the food was wonderful. The small pasta was the perfect size for me and my siblings and the pizza was delicious.
While we ate we asked two separate people twice for refills on just our ice waters, and both ignored us until we flagged down our server at the end of the meal for more water and the check.
As a restaurant worker myself it was a strange and off putting experience but the food was wonderful. Just a little frustrating when we entered hungry and very thirsty...
