We found this little gem hidden within a metro and busy area tucked away from the usual beach scene. We were so excited to try every stall but came to the realization that it was an impossible task. But nevertheless, we divided and conquered! The first stall we ordered from was the arepa. The stall's name is Budare PR. We got the pork with cheese on corn bread. It was a good sign when the lady behind the counter was actively rolling the dough when we arrived. From first glance, the meat looked like it could be dry and the shredded cheese looked to be too much. However, the first bite into it proved me wrong. Not only that the meat was juicy and flavorful, the cheese complimented it really well! The fresh corn bread was light and fluffy, not greasy at all. I highly recommend! The second stall we ordered from was the traditional mofongo from El Cuchifrito. The presentation of this dish alone is to die for. We got the skirt steak but I suspect that no matter what you get, it will be equally delicious. From the crispy chicharron on top, to the saucy tender mofongo meat, every bite packed in so much flavor. It was very filling and we were very full by the end of the this. Lastly, we ordered a drink from Berger. It was refreshing and light. Just what we needed for a hot afternoon. Pro tip: They are closed on Mondays. If you do go there right at noon, be sure to check out the cute bookstore a block up to the left when you exit Lote 23. They serve up some amazing craft coffees and a place to chill out in the AC.

Our 1st day in PR. As we were leaving the airbnb we saw 3 police officers walking past. Since we didn't know the area yet, we asked them for somewhere quick to eat. They all said Lot 23. We were confused about the name but followed their direction to the place lol When we got here it made sense lol. It wasn't a restaurant! It's a LOT that was turned into like a food truck lot except these trucks will never move from the spot hehehe. It's outdoor space do be careful of passing showers!! The trucks line the "wall" and sold sandwiches, burgers, chickens, arepas, smoothies, and many other I forgot. Tables are scattered in the "center". Not many tables so either come during off hours or take your food to go. We were too early for lunch so many were still closed. We walked around before settling on this truck, El Cuchifrito. Mofongo with Churrasco - amazingly tender beef Stuffed Avocado with Garlic Mero - so good, never heard of a stuffed Avocado before! Definitely come try this if your in the Santurce area!

We came here when we stayed in Condado area and it is such a short walk through a nice area with shops and hotels, or a short Scooter ride. Many trucks were not open, so, the choices were limited. We picked things from 4 different vendors: pizza, burger, Mediterranean/ Arab bogo maloush, and a pork sandwich from Pernileria los Proceres. The area has nice benches, large “bigass” fans, cozy/ romantic lighting, and a vending machine to support local artists (selling earrings, tshirts, cards, etc.) I especially like Pernileria los Proceres, they have a cute truck with tons of farm animal decors, homegrown herbs, and while I never had pork sandwich before, I had to tip them more for the awesome sandwich. It has fried pork skin, radish, and a few other veggie ingredients that cannot typically be found in sandwiches. Highly recommended. I wonder how it’d be like pre-COVID. There are also beer and cocktails.

Overrated and not enough info listed. We got there around 6:30pm on a Thursday night and some vendors were closed. They dont have hours listed per vendor so you're basically rolling dice as to which ones will be available. Their website only gives a description of what the vendors serve, but not a menu. We went because some people stated that there were a lot of vegan options, but that was not true, at least Thursday. My partners options were either a meatless poke bowl, beyond burger with no cheese, and an arepa with no cheese either as both were out of vegan cheese. The Mediterranean vendor was closed and he touted in the website about his many vegan options so that was disappointing. I am not vegan and wanted a pernil sandwich, but the pernil truck was out of pork. They didnt have pork all day so I was a little confused as to why they stayed open since that's pretty much all they served. Service was also slow, especially the arepa truck. It wasnt very busy either down there so I imagine it would take really long if there was an actual line.

I had my heart set on pernil, but ended up settling for mofongo with beef. It actually was really good but just not what i was planning on eating. The drink from that truck was good as well. It was papaya jugo.

Overall, the place had a really nice vibe but the food really wasnt worth the trek. We could find all of this stuff plus more within two blocks of where we were staying. I'd suggest going earlier in the day to maybe catch more vendors and maybe some will...
