Mangiare Italian Trattoria & Pizzeria — Restaurant in San Juan

Fui a este restaurante 7/14/21 y Quiero dejar claro que esta no es otra revisión de "Karen". He trabajado en la industria de servicios durante mucho tiempo, por lo que soy más comprensivo y paciente con mi mesero, pero el servicio en este lugar fue particularmente decepcionante esta noche. Estábamos buscando algo para comer y ya era tarde. Llegamos aquí una hora antes del cierre, pero teníamos la intención de pedir comida para llevar y vimos que todavía había clientes comiendo y siendo atendidos. Cuando entré, pregunté si la cocina estaba abierta, me dijeron que solo estaba abierta para llevar. Una vez más, no fue un problema, pero me sentí ofendido cuando un chico entró y se sentó detrás de nosotros, pidió comida, para cenar y abrir una botella de vino al lado de la mesa. ¿Pensé que era solo para llevar manita? ¿O fue solo para nosotros? También recibió su pedido primero y llegó cuando ya llevábamos 20 minutos esperando. Había pedido pizza y 1 minuto después pedí que agregara palitos de mozzarella a mi pedido para llevar. Los palitos de mozzarella salieron en un plato y entonces tuve que aclarar que lo quería para llevar. estaba confundido que tuve que aclarar eso cuando me dijeron que no están sirviendo comida en el restaurante. Pasaron veinte minutos más y todavía no recibí la pizza, así que le dije a la mesera que me gustaría nuevos palitos de mozzarella ya que estaban fríos y era un pedido que le llevaba a casa a mi hermana pequeña. Además de todo esto, ya había pagado y dejado una buena propina y realmente sentí que recibieron la propina y no les importaba el servicio en ese momento. El personal estaba hablando y no podía decir quién estaba en el reloj y quién era solo un amigo, pero sé que estaban comiendo, hablando y gozando mientras esperábamos una hora por una pizza que sabía a cartón y palitos de mozzarella. Dicho esto, diría que se mantenga alejado de la pizza. Hay excelentes críticas, pero desafortunadamente no me importa volver y probar debido a la experiencia negativa, ni la recomendaré

I want to be clear this is not another ‘Karen’ review. I’ve worked in the service industry for a long time, so I’m extra understanding and patient with my waiter, but the service at this place was particularly disappointing this evening. We were looking for a small bite to eat and it was already late. We arrived here an hour before closing but we intended to order food to go and we saw there were customers still eating and being waited on. When I went inside I asked if the kitchen was open , i was told it was only open for take-out. Again not a problem, but I felt offended when a guy walked in and sat down after us,ordered food, to dine-in and open a bottle of wine table side. I thought it was take out only sis? Or was that just for us? He also received his order first and he arrived when we had already been waiting 20 minutes. I had ordered pizza and 1 minute later asked to add mozzarella sticks to my to-go order. The mozzarella sticks came out on a plate and so I had clarify and I was confused I had to clarify that since I was told that they were only doing to-go orders. An additional twenty minutes goes by and I still didn’t receive the pizza, so I told the waitress that I’d like New mozzarella sticks since they were cold and it was an order I was bringing home to my little sister. On top of all this I had already paid and left a nice tip and it really felt like they got the tip and didn’t care about the service at that point. The staff was talking and I couldn’t tell who was on the clock and who was just a friend, but I know they were eating , talking, and gozando while we waited an hour for a pizza that tasted like cardboard and mozzarella sticks. That being said, I’d say stay away from the pizza. There are great reviews but unfortunately I don’t care to return and try because of the horrible experience, nor will I...

Absolutely amazing food.....accidentally came across this gem on our way home from the bar and with there being a curfew we decided to see if we could grab some food for later and possibly a drink ....Rubin was so accommodating and as most of us industry people know those last minute late night people are annoying (15 years in the industry personally) but he totally accommodated us with food to go an drinks while we waited .... his energy was so welcoming we came back the next night and now here again on our third night .... aside from Rubin being amazing the food is absolutely to die for whether it’s basic fries and pizza or a high end steak you literally can...

One of best pizzas I've had so far in San Juan. It's proper Italian style. Obviously the ingredients and flavours aren't as good as those I've had in Italy but it's a good pizza, only let down a little by the cheese being a touch underdone.

I had a pizza a few days ago from another popular place close by and wasn't impressed (hard greasy crust/base). Same story with yet another place further up road.
