This is such a bizarre restaurant. The front desk staff can’t understand English, yet the menu is entirely in English. I ordered a sandwich and soup combo for $13, plus a side salad for $3. Somehow, the cashier couldn’t calculate the total correctly and charged me $25. 😂 I tried explaining in English, but she couldn’t understand me.

She didn’t even provide a spoon with the utensils—how am I supposed to drink soup? On top of that, the food quality was mediocre at best. The soup was basically water and looked nothing like the menu photo, and the meatball sandwich was dry and hard.

To make things worse, I had to wait 20 minutes for my food—just a sandwich and soup! 😂😂

At this point, beyond being disappointed, I’m honestly just confused. What’s going on with this place? Did the owner leave and ask some relatives to run the restaurant in their absence?

—————- a divider here —————-

Ok, a few hour after I post this review, the restaurant owner responded in English and claimed I was ordering in Chinese that took them extra time to understand my order, which is simply not true. Let me clarify the entire situation and explain why I accepted the $25 bill.

When I first ordered (speaking English the entire time), the waitress initially charged me $28. I pointed out the discrepancy and asked her to correct it to $16 because that’s the price listed on the menu: $13 for the sandwich and soup combo, plus $3 for a side (I chose salad). She corrected the bill to $16 but then changed it again to $25.

I wasn’t entirely sure where the extra $9 came from, but since her English was very broken, I was too tired to go through the process of confirming with her a third time. I assumed it might have been a miscommunication, perhaps adding an extra salad or something, and I figured it was fine as long as I received the food.

However, when I got my order, it was only worth $16. This reflects a larger issue: the waitress’s poor English skills are undeniably causing friction in the customer experience, something other reviews have also pointed out.

As for the owner’s comment about “the restaurant view being beautiful,” I honestly don’t see how that has anything to do with food quality or service. It’s confusing and completely illogical. Honestly, I’m not surprised the restaurant is acting strange, given the owner’s bizarre response. Denying and deflecting won’t help your business—apologies and meaningful...

Worst service we ever had!!! Mike took our order like he was doing us a favor, without even looking at us and when we discovered our hummus is stone cold (were we come from itsi served slightly warm), we asked if they can heat it up a bit. They looked at us like we fell from the moon and said they can't and that is how they serve it, extremely impatiently. So we asked for take away (so we could heat it up) the lady made a face and again acted like she's doing us a faver, and when she didn't give us enough boxes I asked for another one and she responded very aggressively again.... Before we left I went to Mike and quitly, as to not make a big deal, I told him the service was not a good experience for us and I'm not sure why they acted that way, to that he responded in a very loud voice "what is your deal lady? If u don't like it go to Chipotle"... I feel very bad (not used to strangers being that aggressive) so I went to our car but then I decided that I will not let this slide. So I went back in and asked for his name and again he acted like I'm some crazy person... And yeld " what is your deal???" I asked again, quitly and he yeld "what is your name?!" I told him and then he said his name is Erik... I also askedathe people around if they gotgtge same "qulity" service, and they all said they have and that they are socked by how these 2 acted. What a BAD EXPERIENCE!!! If someone knows the owner I would love to talk to him. These people will kill...

Worst experience ever from any of the restaurants in US. The service is really bad and pathetic. We went to the store and ordered. We had to wait for more than 1.5 hours and there were only a few people and few orders and almost everyone was waiting. Only one person to take the orders, serve , pack etc. Also they did not tell if it is going to take longer. Nothing was ready, they were frying falafel then and there, there were no pita. While taking the order they did not write the options and while serving other customers, they were asking about what do we want. The only one lady at the counter was running here and there. I saw how unhygienic the counter was. She put my pita sandwich on the counter, her hands were all filled with some sauce . And when we got our order the packet had all the sauce from her hands. It was grose. I would have not written this review until I found a stapler pin in my mouth. This place really needs some check and better service

And you can see all the reviews on google and on Yelp too, the business owner is not ready to accept any bad reviews or rather any suggestions. If there is a problem with their service or delivery they should accept it. They are rather denying everything saying that these are false...

2018; One of my family's favorite mediterianian restaurants in bay area. No waiting time. great falafel plates and sandwiches. you gotta try it. Update; 2022 The place has changed so much since the last time we were here before the pandemic started. They have added more items to the menu like boba tea. But, I don't think addition of Asian style boba tea is not very aligned with the theme of the restaurant. It appears the ownership has changed so did the vibe of this place. Not sure I will come back. Definitely not as clean as it was in the post.
