Cafe Citti has recently, within the last two years, and under the veil of the all-mighty, ever & all encompassing- PANDEMIC..... as though under the cover of darkness, this long-time and local favorite in Kenwood, to the right side of highway twelve as you approach Los Alamos if you were heading southbound toward the town of Sonoma and away from Santa Rosa.
Their new location is conveniently located across from the Fourth Street Safeway in Santa Rosa, Order online and you can pick up your salads, and pasta with fresh Talonica-style bread.... yum!!
At any rate, this is authentic Italian house-made favorites, such as and including gnocchi, lasagna, & ravioli. Pair your pasta with marinara sauce, alfredo, or my go-to the Bolognese (meat-sauce) provides the perfect balance. Have a fresh salad to get started and perhaps add a Capricci salad (fresh basil, tomato mozzarella and balsamic reduction). Hydrate with red wines, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Syrah, and alternate with a couple glasses of water.... by the time you finish dinner, your body will be that much closer to a...
Read moreDecent Italian fare. The restaurant can really benefit from an interior overhaul.
Food: we ordered 1/2 roasted chicken which was superb (4/5). The paste with marinara was average 3/5. Fountain drinks are refillable for free and soda drinks are refillable for $1.
It's surprisingly affordable and decent food. It's a great place to lunch pit stop before you get more wine into your system.
It was insanely pack in there, it took us approx 15mins to place our order. The cashier repeatedly walked away, taking calls, preparing check and the occasional taking of orders.

The environment is really old and dark. It was such a beautiful day, but the environment indoor was gloom and musky. They have outdoor seating but we couldn't get any so we sat indoors.
Would recommend adding this as a lunch stop, and try to secure a seat outdoor. Would likely make the experience...
Read moreI wasn't expecting such spectacular Italian food in Sonoma Valley. This was recommended by one of the guys at Chateau St Jean. We walked in and saw a line leading up to the cashier, but it all worked out and everybody was able to find a seat after they ordered. Should have grabbed the window table though, but the old couple behind us strategized and had one person sit down while the other waited in line and ordered. Next time we'll know what to do! The fried polenta here is awesome- crunchy on the outside and soft and creamy on the inside, and the Bolognese sauce I chose was delicious as well. My friend ordered the linguine with white clam sauce and that was cooked to al dente perfection, with tons of chopped clams in the sauce. Cannoli here was solid as well- what a perfect shell. I wish we had room to order the tiramisu too. Oh well. Great service as well. Superb find in the valley. Pricing very...
