I waited 38 minutes, but I would wait 38 + 38 minutes for the food I received on this 14th day of November in the year of 2024!!!!!! Baybayyyyy, y’all better go and get you some of these:

I got a fried chicken dinner (dark meat) with yellow rice, cabbage, and Mac & cheese. The fried chicken almost made me cry ‘cause it was so good. Seasoned and fried hard like I love it—it was crispy and crunchy! The Mac & cheese was so cheesy & delicious. I love Colby Jack in my mac—and I certainly tasted it in there. Everything was hot and fresh. I didn’t care much for the cabbage, but guess what? I still ate it. So what that mean? lol. It means it was different than any cabbage I ever had, but it wasn’t bad.

I also got the fried whiting with yellow rice, yams, and mac & cheese. Again, that mac & cheese was so good. The yams could’ve been softer with some more butter & nut meg, but guess what? I still ate it, so what that mean? It wasn’t bad. And the FISH. Lawd, that fish was seasoned and fried so wonderfully I just ate everything while driving on the way home and I didn’t care that I was driving horribly. I need a sign for my back window that says, “I’m probably eating. Please just go pass me.” lol.

Nevertheless, the food is delicious, the atmosphere is amazing, the staff was kind, and idk why you still reading—you should already be on the way to get your soul food. Highly recommend. See pictures (it was the best I could do; I was...

The food was very good and different, and I will definitely visit again. I do think their prices are high for the quantity of the food, but the taste makes up for the cost.

I tried this place again 8-22-24 and it was not as good as the first visit. The lady at the counter was very pleasant and helpful, but the food was not good at all today. The fish had a lot of bones and I was told it was fillet fish, also The taste was very bland with no seasoning. The cabbage was purple and very crunchy but it did have a decent taste. The green beans had absolutely no taste and I could not eat that at all, and lastly, the macaroni and cheese didn't have any taste either. I was very disappointed because I paid almost $20 for that plate, and I was also disappointed that the quantity was not good. I do believe that this will be my last time visiting this place, but I wish them well. The only thing that I enjoyed was the one piece of chicken that I got as a friendly gesture from the lady at...

We were looking for a good soul food restaurant as we traveled from Florida to South Carolina. We found this restaurant with a 4.8 rating. So we assumed it would be good. This review is not intended to hurt the owners, but hopefully it will help them. The good: the restaurant is very vibrant and soulful. The service and friendliness was excellent. The bad: the food had no soul, there was no seasoning nor flavor in any of the food. The mac and cheese tasted like a box recipe with bland flavor. The spinach tasted like it was boiled in water and put on the plate. The lima beans were bland. The fried whiting was ok and the sauce that came with it was good. The yellow rice was good. Now, the worst: the oxtails were shamful. They were bland and the light gravy does not go with oxtails. Oxtails belong in a rich, dark gravy. For $25 dollar you receive 3 bland pieces of oxtails. Again, shamful. We would not return unless there changes. We are used to good, flavorful soul...

So we wanted to get something a little different. Isaac decided to order the fried shrimp, Mac n cheese & yellow rice. I ordered the oxtails because my nephew kept talking about some, white rice, mac n cheese & broccoli casserole. We decided to take it home instead of dining in. I would say the atmosphere is very inviting. Plants, figurines, etc. The fried shrimp were good. As far as my oxtails, a tad too much salt. I don't know if it was towards the bottom and not mixed properly, or just that way. I couldn't finish them, so it was very disappointing. The mac n cheese started off ok with the first bite. After that something was a tad on the sour cheese side. It was very strong. I like the seasoning in the casserole, just not the mushiness, just a little. Didn't know it had rice, so broccoli & rice casserole, not broccoli & cheese casserole I expected. I am not knocking going here for anyone, it just wasn't for me with my meal.

This place exudes kindness. The staff are radiant and friendly. The building is quaint (cement block), but SO full of charm! The food reminds me of the kind made with love the way only grandma could do! The menu is extensive with great options and very reasonable pricing. I asked the helpful lady taking our order to just build me a plate. I ended up with the roast beef and veggies over rice with decadent Mac n cheese and cinnamon roasted sweet potatoes with homemade lemonade. I also got to try the seared salmon and a few other sides and they were scrumptious! The serving sizes are enough you won't leave hungry! We took our left over and choose to eat them for breakfast over getting fresh breakfast, they were that good! If I were local I'd make a point to support this business. You can tell their heart is in it. Very satisfied and glad we listened to other reviews and chose to try it!
