Burgerhaus — Restaurant in Schererville

Visited this location on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at 12:30 pm. We are pretty regular with weekly visits. We are used to them seeming under staffed and have always been patient . Today it was way beyond reasonable. We sat at the bar. It took 25 minutes to receive menu and to place our drink order. No big deal. We were patient. The bar tender seemed to stress and roamed around about forgetting what she was doing. Watched another couple leave without ever being acknowledge. They said they don’t have time to wait. Finally was able to order our food and ask for another drink. Before she placed our food order in the computer she roamed around again. Finally placed the food order and she turns around to ask questions and still forgot our drinks. Reminder her about the beer. She left the bar area again. We could see she was busy so we were still patient. Even the man sitting next to us said yeh bartender should always babe behind the bar. This was not the case today. After a bit we asked again for the beer and to make it two so we did not have to wait. She then came around to the bar again and said sorry but went to talk to a man who was sitting there for a while. Thats when we had enough. This was after being there for 45 minutes. We watched a table get three separate drink orders from The waitress. That waitress had to come to the bar herself to make and get drinks for her tables. Told the bartender to cash us out for the one beer. Told her we were patient up until she stood on front of us to say sorry but still could not follow thru with the drink request. She did more talking about how they are so busy and could not get anyone to come in. Honestly that’s not our problem. We were beyond patient. We were there to have a birthday drink and burger. It would have taken one minutes just to grab the beer. We were fine with waiting on the food. Just when you sit at the bar you expect a level of service. We could only image how messed up the food order would have been. Very disappointed. Hope Owners could watch the cameras back to watch to fix...

As a frequent diner at this establishment, I have to say I am very disappointed in the response we received the other night. I have celiac disease and because of that I cannot eat gluten. Burgerhaus is a restaurant that is very close by to my house that I eat at very often because they do have gluten-free options for normal foods such as a burger and fries. The other night we were placing an order and asked if they could make the carne asada fries with seasoned fries instead of plain fries and make sure it's gluten-free. The response we received was no we can't do that and the kitchens busy right now so maybe you should call another time. I am so very disappointed to be treated in this way when we have spent a lot of money at this restaurant because there are not very many gluten-free options in the area at all. I will be letting everybody I know that goes to Burgerhaus to no longer go there because they do not care about their patrons. I cannot stress enough how upset I am by this. We did try calling to speak to the manager but the hostess was definitely giving us the run-around so there was no way to get ahold of anybody in charge. I also sent an email hoping that maybe somebody would get back to me but with no such luck. Now I have no option but to say...
