I've never been more disappointed in the quality, talent (or lack of), or attitude of a business. I ordered my meal through uber eats so none of my experience was face to face.
I ordered the boneless wings and requested they be tossed in the Napoleon Dynamite sauce on top of a bed of fries. This is a simple order that I have had at their Avalon location and I was very satisfied. But what I got from them was nothing like the first time I ordered it. The chicken was slightly burnt and the very few fries were hidden under a thick pool of sauce with cajun seasoning sprinkled on top, not mixed in. To add on to it, the chicken wasn't even fully covered with sauce and the pool of sauce left the fries as a soggy mess. The presentation was terrible.
I called in to voice my complaints and was told a manager was not on duty but they will put me on the line with someone they felt were more equipped to deal with my problem. This, my readers, was not the case. The gentleman who picked up the phone was the one who made my order and must have taken my complaints as a personal attack as he was nothing but rude and aggressive. After voicing my displeasure he told me to "just try one anyway" implying that my disgust for burnt chicken and lack of desire for soggy fries was somehow wrong. I told him I didnt want to eat it, I wanted a refund. All he could say after that was "don't get lost in the sauce".
I was under the impression that "Dont get lost in the sauce" was to denote quality and taste, stating that the sauce was so good that one could easily "get lost" in it. I now realize that it's just a statement used to dismiss and undermine any complaints about the quality of the food. I'm sure there are talented and well mannered cooks there, but the one I spoke to was neither talented nor well mannered. After about 3 minutes of trying to get a refund for this mess of food through regular interruptions as he set the phone down to go back to food prep, explaining I'm willing to drive the 20 minutes just to show I haven't eaten it, he loudly sighed and told me to "call tomorrow at 11 and b*h at my manager" before saying "don't get lost in the sauce" and hanging up.
The prices are another issue. I'd be fine with paying more than $1 a wing if I knew I was getting quality service from talented employees. But clearly they are just riding out the gimmicky wave of having over 200 sauces. So ironically, the only one getting "lost in the sauce" is this poor excuse of a business with a lack...
Read moreWe like the food and they refunded my money, but I wanted to share so hopefully this doesnt happen again. Or order was 50 mild wings well done, cheeseburger, italian hoagie, and a hot sausage hoagie. What we received was 50 mild wings not well done, as cheesesteak, a heart attack hoagie, and a hot sausage hoagie. When we called they couldnt find the order cause it was entered wrong, so he had to use my credit card. She entered the entire order wrong when we placed the order. We were told 45 min to 1 hour. We waited 90 minutes then called cause they were busy. Told driver was on the way. We waited 30 more min, and we live literally 5 min away. So now 2 hours have passed. We were told driver was on the way. We waited 30 more min, this time I said I just want a refund, keep the food. The driver apparently drove to the Southside looking for our house? Where they dont even deliver. Anyway, this is now close to 3 HOURS, and I finally talked to a manager. It took him over 5 minutes to find the order, 5 min to find out where the driver was, because I told him order and there was no order matching description because woman entered it wrong when we placed it!! He found it, said he refunded money, and said food was on the house, I said thank you sorry I was upset. Food took an additional 15 min to arrive. We still tipped driver who apologized. Now onto the food, keep in mind it's over 3 hours late. Wings were mushy and warm at best. The food which we didnt order, hoagies, the buns were so soggy that we pulled meat off and put it on our own hot dog buns. The hoagie rolls absorbed so much juice that they were dripping and squishy. HORRIBLE experience, but the manage was professional and helpful, the driver was apologetic, the woman who took the order was just kind of blah, not in a rude way, just like she had no idea what was going on or how to handle it. Not sure if we will order from here again, but our previous visits the...
Read moreI've had their food a handful of times, its it's okay. My fries came back super soggy the past 2 times I've ordered them. Here is my real beef with this business- I ordered one hamburger and a small fry. They couldn't hear me very well over the phone but I could hear them perfectly fine. I was told 25 to 35 minutes. Made sense to me because it was a small order and I live less than a half mile away. I waited an hour and 15 minutes for my food.
When I called to ask about it, this lady was super rude and was expecting me to know their typical delivery times as if I eat their constantly. I've had their food 3 times total and this was my 2nd delivery order.
Needless to say their customer service is practically nonexistent. Not even an apology. Take this for what you will, but I'm not going to bother spending my money here again until they hire people who know how to treat customers with...
