I went in with my one year old daughter to celebrate my wedding anniversary even though my husband passed away recently. The hostess was nice and right after I sat down the bus boy came around with a water for my daughter and myself. She colored and was doing pretty well. I was looking at the menu for a while because a lot looked good to me and I was trying to decide what to get and was going to ask the waitress what she thought. I'm the type of person that will get many things so I can taste them all and just take home the rest for later. We finished our waters. As I waited I noticed the waitress go to all the tables around me. There was more than one person helping so I thought maybe there was more than one waitress or maybe just a helper since I was at a half booth against the wall with tables on each side of mine. I noticed she helped a couple sharing the booth two tables down (who got there after I did) and they already had wine. I figured maybe she wanted to give me a minute and since I sat there a bit with my menu open I decided to close it so she would know I was ready to order. My daughter started getting a little impatient and fussy. I thought maybe less time passed than I thought because toddlers are at that demanding stage. No, that wasn't the case. It had been over 45 minutes. I waited until I could see the waitress to try and say something but every time she came near my table she would run off before I could say anything. I started thinking maybe she wasn't my waitress until after the group of people sharing my booth on the other side left and a new group came in. She went up to them right away, the couple on the other side of me, also sharing my booth, looked at me as if they were going to say something. I thought about saying something to her but I was too upset at that point with a toddler who was getting upset about sitting still and still no food, so I got up told the hostess that seated me that the waitress never said anything to me and that I was leaving. I probably reacted more emotionally than I normally would, but I seriously doubt I would even want to have her as a waitress not to mention numerous workers that walked around and made eye contact with me. I was feeling pretty emotional and at one point started tearing up so I was also probably not as aggressive as I'd normally be about getting someone's attention but I shouldn't have to tell a waitress she went to every table except mine and didn't even bother to say one thing to me. Either way, the food looked good but the service was so horrible I never got to try anything and will most likely...
Read moreI haven't posted in a while but felt it was important to take a moment and provide input on our experience. Let me start with the quality of the food is very good and, despite the prior customer service issues, we decided to return - big mistake. While we enjoy good food, if there are recurring issues it sours the experience and leads to making new choices and new memories.
On this occasion we attempted to use a gift card we had purchased during our initial visit 7 months prior on our last trip to AZ. After attempting to pay our bill (again, the food was fantastic) and sending it back for correction (no one likes to be charged for things they didn't order), it literally became a game of who's on first. We presented our gift card (that was purchased from THEM) and watched for the next 20 minutes staff walking in circles trying to figure out what the balance was and how to charge the card??? Finally the owner (or what she referred to herself as the last time we were there) came over and said they were having an issue with the card due to a system change? She finally returned the gift card but the actual balance left did not reflect what should have been left. When I questioned this the owner said it's what she saw in her system based on the prior transaction of $14 which was all she could see from the 3 prior visits (interesting being we had only been there twice before and $14 would have barely covered an appetizer). She took our information and said she would touch base to rectify it but, to date, there has not been any contact. With that being said, I would recommend finding a more reputable establishment with great food and great service to match. Needless to say (and with heavy hearts as their Zeppoles are PHENOMENAL) we will most likely...
Read moreI love this restaurant! We've dined there, and picked up food to eat at home, dozens of times. You may have read my prior reviews that include the best pastas, appetizers, and more. We usually always get the Cannoli for dessert because, they are legit homemade mini Cannoli and are fantastic.
BUT this time we got the BEIGNETS for dessert! I just died and went to heaven. They definitely know how to make perfect, light, flaky beignets dusted with powdered/confectioner's sugar. The strawberry sauce and chocolate sauce is amazing on them.
You haven't lived until you've savored these light pillows of flaky sweetness!
~ We just dined again and loved what we ordered (both entrees were from the nightly featured menu, not the normal menu.) The Osso Bucco: so tender/fantastic wine sauce! The "Macaroni and Cheese" (Farfalle & Parmesan cheese sauce) with chicken was perfectly creamy, al dente & the thinly sliced pieces of chicken breast were tender and juicy. The portions are big! (See my new photos.) For cocktails, we had "Old Fashions" and a Martini with Grapefruit Vodka, lime juice, cranberry juice, & Triple Sec. I forgot what it was called, but it's the first one on the Martini list ($10), but even the Old Fashions were $10. each, so (as with any place, I guess), those drinks will add up. Haha
The service is always great. Our server this time, Sarah, was SO personable & attentive! She even went to get the bottle of Grapefruit Vodka, to show me the brand, and tell me again what was...
