Edit: After months and months later, I wanted to upgrade this review to a full 5 stars. I saw this place improve since their opening, and after getting Indian here for my birthday, I had to come back and update this review.
I paid 45 dollars for 2 orders of garlic Naan and 2 orders of butter chicken, but I also got a free curry due to a buy 2 get 1 free deal.
There was plenty of chicken, the butter masala sauce was perfect, and it was the perfect "medium" spicy.
The Naan was fantastic too, and there was plenty of sauce to dunk it.
I'm happy to see this place strive to keep improving, because it shows. I would totally recommend this place to anyone new to Indian food. They're also very friendly if you have any questions about flavors, dishes, etc. Don't hesitate to ask!
Original Review: I was a long time customer of Shivam Foods, and despite people always leaving reviews saying they were rude, the gentleman that ran it was always really nice to me, and his food was great. My only criticism was I wanted more chicken/meat options. I was sad to hear Shivam closed down, but I actually called his number, and he told me he sold it, and there was a new Restaurant in its place. I spent 43 dollars on 2 butter chicken orders, garlic naan, and samosas. Owners, please read this, because it is some constructive criticism that I hope can be corrected in the future. Everything was delicious, BUT the butter chicken literally had like 6 cubes of chicken in it. That is absolutely ridiculous for 15 dollars. For that, I expect at least 2 thighs worth of chicken chunks. It was all sauce, and no chicken. I honestly thought it was a joke at first, or we got the wrong order. I was honestly tempted to call and complain, but yelling doesn't solve anything. Let me be clear, what was there was delicious. The butter chicken reminded me of the Indian I used to get down in Philly. I missed tasting Indian food this good. However, please just pay attention to your portions for what you are charging. Someone is going to call and yell, or give you a nasty 1 star review. I'm sure I'll order again, and I'll gladly change my review to a 5 star if I see this issue improved. I don't think this review should dissuade people from going here. The food was really good, but just be realistic and try to be constructive. I'm sure it's not easy opening up a restaurant and figuring everything...
Read moreI’ve enjoyed dining here in the past, but unfortunately, my recent experience was not up to expectations. The food lacked the warmth and flavor I usually look forward to. The Paneer Butter Masala didn’t have the rich taste it’s known for, and the naan was thinner than usual and seemed slightly undercooked. Even the chaat, typically vibrant and flavorful, felt a bit underwhelming this time.
Additionally, the cleanliness of the restrooms could definitely be improved, as they were not in the best condition during my visit.
On a positive note, the lady at the front desk was kind, attentive, and handled the situation with great professionalism, which I truly appreciated.
It seems there may have been a recent change in the kitchen team, and I hope the management takes the feedback constructively to bring the food and overall experience back to the high standards we’ve...
Read moreI had been to this restaurant for lunch on my way to Poconos. It was rainy day and I was hungry and hunting for good and tasty food. Of course it’s easy to find this place and parking as well on a weekend. Ambience was OKAY. The seating area was somewhat like disconnected with the restaurant. Seating area was outside and self serving including cleaning tables after eating food. Whenever we had to order additional food we have to walk to other place. There was no facility to call the server. I ordered two different curries and both look same and taste too. I couldn’t find difference between Mixed veg kolhapuri and cashews curry. Garlic butter naans are better. Don’t ask for curd rice. It was blended in blender and its like paste. I don’t recommend this restaurant. Service was good, person who helped was courteous. Other than that nothing is...
