I had heard about Supreme in West Seattle but I’m not around those parts often so I was happy to hear that a location was opening on the Ave. I believe I visited right after they got their liquor license which meant they had expanded their hours to 2am even on Sundays, which is the day I visited. The ambiance is dark and at night the neon gives off a reddish glow. There is a 21-and-over area in the back half of the bar and an all ages area where you order the pizza. When I went, the bouncer/security was the one to check IDs if patrons were going to the bar. The bouncer was friendly and was probably the most approachable of the people working that day. When it comes to the pizza I had a slice of the Hawaiian which had Portuguese sausage, pineapples, and jalapenos. It is similar to a NY slice with its thin crust. It tasted really good and the saltiness of the Portuguese sausage was balanced with the sweetness and tartness of the pineapple and the spiciness of the jalapenos. Come to think of it, the Portuguese sausage was probably used because that is more Hawaiian than Canadian bacon. I also had a few bites of the square pizza slices. It was thick and doughy with pepperoni, scoops of ricotta, and Carolina reaper pepper somehow integrated. It had quite a kick and tasted really good. The slices were around $5 which is a nice price for the quality and size of the slices you’re getting. I definitely hope to return and try the garlic knots and the Ono slice that has fried chicken, kimchi, and...
Read moreIn the birthplace of Pagliacci Pizza, in the University District, Supreme settles in. I've been here quite a bit. I like the lounge feel, with the red glass candle holders, and old school pizzeria vibe slash decor. The pie is usually a good bet, with thin chewy NY style crisp crusts, whole or by the slice. The pizza is good. The wings are okay, not great, and to be fair, better than average for baked, but with the Ma'ono relation, I'd expect better. I understand it would be short of absurd to somehow jam a deep fryer in their space, but c'mon with a little gumption, Ma'ono/Sunset at Supreme could be accomplished. But with Chi Mac a couple doors down, why bother, amirite? Chi Mac have amazing wings if you don't know.
Supreme misses the mark in that there is no arcade games.
I have to say the sound system is excellent, the frozen drink offerings are potent and delicious, and the barstools are hella comfy.
I'm docking a star because a couple times the food was less stellar than I was expecting, (that and the no pinball) though I will admit the items were comped.
All in all, Supreme is a...
Read moreI like this place but unfortunately I've had some really strange interactions with the people working behind the counter.
Didn't get the pizza type & slice I requested at the slice bar. Was told they "picked a better one for me." Not sure how that works but okay.
Didn't give me back ANY of my change. I didn't say keep it, didn't say I didn't want it. Just took my money then proceeded to continue doing what they were doing.
Note: This has happened TWO separate times with two DIFFERENT people behind the register.
I had to ask someone else to get my change because then the dude that took my order actively avoided me afterwards.
Is this just an unspoken rule that you don't get your money back from ordering a pizza by the slice?
Ended up costing me $8 for a slice of Detroit and a side of ranch.
Also the ranch cost $1....lol
Weird stuff. I might order again for takeout but it's not gonna be any time soon.
SUPREMEly...
