I ordered an ice latte with whole milk. I was handed a very watered down looking iced coffee. I said, this doesn't look like a latte. Did you use whole milk? He insisted that yes, he had. I took a sip. Told him it tasted like syrup and I had not asked for any sweetener. Gave it back to him. He told me he thought I had asked for hazelnut syrup. I don't know how he thought that, but ok. Asked him to make me the iced latte that I asked for. He gave me the same watered down iced coffee. I said, I don't think you used whole milk. Can you show me what you used? He said sure, but as he was leaning over to the fridge to grab the milk, he acted like he had just remembered, and said, oh, I used fat free milk...I just sat in disbelief. Either nothing about my order had registered with him or he was too embarrassed to say they were out of whole milk. Worst service I've had in a long time. I haven’t gone to this place for year! And when I finally went this morning, I was DISAPPOINTED! There was one car in the drive thru when I was pulling up, so I was happy it was about to be quick! I love supporting local shops and small businesses. I have adored every helpful barista I've ever encountered there, and I love that it's centrally located in town. Java Express has so much potential. I've never gotten anything there I didn't necessarily like. However, I wish they pulled fresh espresso shots for every drink. Using old, sour, dead shots really brings down the flavor potential they could achieve. I still go there fairly often, but I do request that fresh shots be pulled for...
