The only reason I'm rating this 5 stars is so that others can see. First time my fiancé and I have ever been to an A&W restraunt, We went through the drive threw and ordered a rootbeer float, chicken tenders and fries. Kate was the lady that took our order and she was not welcoming at all, very snappy as a matter of fact. Seemed very frustrated by us even being there. We arrived at the window where we were not welcomed and she seemed once again very frustrated by us. She gave us our order only to find out we were given a rootbeer and not a rootbeer float which is not a problem it's an easy fix and we had to time to wait a moment. Upon waiting we were basically called liars about ordering the rootbeer float and Kate stated it wasn't her fault and she wasn't going to worry about it. We hadn't made a big deal about it. It wasn't a problem for us to wait alittle longer to get what we wanted. However, the rudeness and attitude we received has caused us to NEVER return to any A&W restraunt. It's no wonder we've never seen any before. In all reality I'll rate this particular restraunt a 2 and the reason why is because 1: I was extremely hungry and 2: though it was the worst food I had tasted it filled...
Read moreI came in out of curiosity more than anything. I’ve never been inside of a A&W. I saw everyone drinking root beer out of ice cold mugs and had to have one of my own… you do get refills but I didn’t need one. They make a big deal out of the soda being, “Made Fresh Daily!” and it being made from “Pure Cane Sugar”. But it comes out of the same dispenser as every other soda they sell. They have large containers in the front on the counters where I believe they keep the syrup I guess they mix by hand which is the claim made on the A&W website.
However the drink was crisp, cold, and refreshing. It was a little over a couple bucks and a unique experience in that frosted mug. It was so cold that ice crystals formed at the top. The root beer was smooth and you could tell it was pure cane sugar as it doesn’t have the hfcs after taste of most products. It’s worth trying out. They also sell root beer floats and some kind of frozen cream root beer. I may go back for another mug before I leave town.
I did notice the menu prices seemed very reasonable for the area. I’m not sure why A&W didn’t take off in the states. They seem to have a good product… a little fine tuning and I could see this place doing...
Read moreWorkers stood behind the counter facing away from the customers doing nothing, while they had a line of 8 people. Looked and saw the line and ignored it. Finally came to take orders with a piss poor attitude.Looked for a table, what tables were open were filthy. Floor was filthy. I watched a customer clean a table them self just to be able to have a place to sit. Customer service was not good at all. Broom and dust pan was left in the dinning area. Many employees walked past while looking at it and damn near tripping over it, but still left it. Trash was over flowing out of the trash can. I understand that Sevierville is a tourist attraction and gets quite busy but there is no excuse for the poor quality of service and the level of filth in this A&W. They also got the order wrong, which I understand. People mess up but, everything else here is not excusable. How did they get that score with the health department? If they were to walk in just now they would be shut down. The health department needs to not notify when they are coming and need do pop up...
