I would give this location 0 stars if I could. SEVERELY DISSAPOINTED WITH THE EXPERIENCE I JUST HAD at the DQ 41225 at 8021 old carriage ct in shakopee. My husband and I decided to run and get a quick Sunday night treat. There were no cars in the parking lot but we were the 4th car back from the window. We sat for over 10 minutes waiting to place our order. Staff finally came on the speaker and my husband ordered 2 medium cookie dough blizzards. The staff member said our total would be 3.61$. My husband knew that total was incorrect and stated again the order was for 2 medium blizzards. The staff member said, “I will add the second one on.” FIFTEEN MINUTES LATER.... we finally get up to the window and the staff member has ONE small blizzard in his hand. My husband then clarified again the order was for 2 medium cookie dough blizzards. Without saying A SINGLE WORD the staff member went back to the computer...told us our total was $9...ok that sounds about right....proceeded to hold onto my husband’s debit card...closed the window...and walked away for another 10 minutes. Looking in the window we were able to see another couple of staff members but not the one who had been taking our order. Ten minutes go by and we would have just driven off and went home but the staff number had not given my husband his card back. The man comes back to the window with one blizzard that had been sitting for so long that it was practically the consistency of milk. Another 5 minutes go by and my husband finally got his blizzard that appeared normal and was tipped upside down coming out the window. This staff member did not say more than two words to us at the window. “I apoligize for the wait” or “thank you for you patience” would have gone a long way. We thought the horrible experience ended there.....we got home and our blizzards were vanilla ice cream with cookie douch chunks on top. I am not normally a person to complain or write a bad review but the service I just experienced will make me not visit this DQ again and I will think twice about going to other stores. Fortunately there are multiple other places with ice cream in a 1 block radius. I hope my experience makes its way to the store owner or a manger and the experience can be rectified and used as a learning opportunity. We will also be calling our bank and watching our card activity.
UPDATE: I also emailed my review to DQ corporate. The district manager emailed me back and the ONLY thing he addressed was that our wait shouldn't have been that long and asked what time we were there. Of course I'll get a "templated" reply from the DQ headquarters but I suggest that this site closes and redirect customers to the Prior Lake or the other Shakopee stores. Yesterday I placed an online order at 4:30, I live 5 minutes away, selected pick up in store, wasn't able to use coupon code on the mobile app that I received in the mail, ordered 2 signature stackburgers and a mini Choc dipped strawberry blizzard. Drove to store, only one car in the drive thru, went to the door, sign at the door stating that the lobby wasn't open to use the drive thru. The other car was still waiting in line. Waited for a while longer for that customer, when I got to the window, I stated that I had a pick up order, attendant asked if I had ordered the strawberry blizzard, of course I did. She proceeded to say, "I'm sorry we are out of strawberries, do you want a substitute?", no I didn't, I asked for a refund and will just take the burgers. After 5 minutes, she returned saying that she couldn't refund because it was a mobile order. I gave her a look and said never mind, she then went back to get my burgers, again I waited 5 minutes for my burgers. She returned with the burgers and the manager. Manager said that she "personally doesn't know how to refund using the mobile system", "call tomorrow to get a refund". Seriously - no workers know how to do a refund on their system! Come on! I took my burgers and drove home. Well.......the stackburgers, I ordered Double A1 and Double Flamethrower, I only had one patty on the A1! Read moreSimply the worst experience I have ever experienced at a restaurant. Safe to say my family and I will never be back. I placed my order and we got the 5 buck lunch. It comes with ice cream and I told them I would like to get it after I finish eating as I have small kids and that is their motivation to finish their food. They brought the ice cream out with the food. Then I simply asked for gravy, for the chicken strip baskets and the guy goes and asks for the cook to make it. They argued in front of us saying it would be a few minutes. I was fine with that but thought it was unprofessional of them to argue in front of all the customers. Then when the gravy was finally “done” they bring it to me and it is nasty. It looks like foggy soup and is swishing around in the container. I have never seen something so gross looking and they are trying to pass it off as gravy. Then I called them out on it and they said the batch from last night didn’t turn out. I don’t know what that was and I hope it’s not what I thought it was. To say the least this place is disgusting. None of the tables are cleaned either and it is 2:45 on a Sunday.
