So the last time I visited Pies & Pints I brought friends who had never been for dinner and to say I was embarrassed about the experience was a understatement. Our server, I believe "Nick", took over 20 whole minutes (we timed it after 5 minutes) to greet us. Him and another server were obviously the only two servers out on the patio that night and neither one greeted us for 20 minutes. After a poor greeting where he didn't even mention his name we tried to place our order as quickly as possible since we were very hungry. We got garlic bread and two pizzas, not a huge order but that order took another 30+ minutes for it to arrive. Nick neglected to come back to our table to ask "how is everything?" or "would you like more water?" the entire time we ate. After we had obviously finished for a moment he scurried over to say "are you finished?!" not even a 'would you like a box?" to which I replied for 4 girls "Can we please have a box?". Then Nick took our pizza to box it for us which would have been the only good thing he did all night but then it gets even worse! He came out to check on "more important looking" tables without bringing our pizzas back multiple times. When I say "more important" I mean people who "look" like they might tip more. The thing that Nick didn't realize was all four of us girls have worked in the service industry and typically tip 15-20% every time no matter the quality of service because we understand how hard it is to be a server. After about 3 times of Nick walking past us we got his attention and asked if we could have our boxed pizza to which he looked surprised as if he forgot. He ran back, somehow managed to still have our pizza and brought it back out. Also one thing I forgot to mention is that it was pouring rain and partially thunder storming the night we went and without being asked "would you like to sit inside or outside?" we were sat by very rude hostesses who just sat us outside where the wind would continue to blow rain on us. Would love to get pizza there again if I didn't have to deal with a single...
Read moreToday Tony and I were in the Columbus Ohio area trying to get some Christmas shopping done and decided on Pizza for lunch. Thank goodness for my cell phone and yelp app. Looked up pizza near our location, Pies & Pints popped up, photos plus reviews were enticing so using map quest followed my phones directions right to their door. We were greeted & seated immediately. They are tucked into a corner location in a small mall like sitting & if it wasn't for my GPS app, might not have located them. The server was nice but also the bartender so he couldn't give us personalized attention but he did his best, since like the building itself, they tucked us into a hidden corner. The restaurant was dark, not well lit, dark decor paint and furnishings...needs to be lightened up..I found it depressing not romantic, but I don't think they were going for the romantic feel either We ordered a 10 inch Italian and added tomato sauce, I had coca cola and Tony PBR. For some reason no pricing on the menu, I found that odd. When I got my check I saw why, my small pizza was $16...tome thar was very high for value of my pie. It was good, not great and definitely not A $16 value. Too much vinegarette on it, yes vinegar!!!! Will I go back if I am in the area, NO but mainly because too many other options to try out. Hope your experience is better...
Read moreI have consistently come to Pies and Pints in Worthington nearly every Friday night; since 2014. The food is really great. The pizza crust is a nice medium build. The ingredients always taste fresh. The sauce pends on the pizza, there are several different types. Pies and Pints also offer salads and subs. I can see with a full vote of confidence:" I have never left the place unhappy with a meal".
Not only is the food great, the service is as well. In the course of nearly 52 visits, I have only received poor service once. In my opinion those are some pretty spectacular stats. The staff all seem incredibly informed of their product. Pies and Pints offer a wide variety of pizza and other food options. It always impresses me; how detailed each server is with the versatility of the menu items. Not only do the employees know about a good meal; they know so, so, so, much about beer. I personally am not a huge beer drinker. However, pies and pints offer so much variety; that I believe anyone could find a brew they would enjoy.
So in short: if you like beer or pizza, give this place a shot. If you get dragged there with others for dinner and you dislike both. Who are you?, then enjoy...
