Waiting Room Cafe — Restaurant in Sidney

starting my review, i want to preface by saying i never like or want to leave negative reviews, especially on a new business. but that speaks volume on my experience. first walking in, the staff was very pleasant to me and my partner. they were having her try the free drink of the day, giving her recommendations, etc. it was nice, very cool idea. they got to me and barely spoke to me, took my order and i paid. i paid a little over EIGHT dollars for a medium latte with a pump of hazelnut. on the menu it said it would only be ~4-6 dollars for that specific item so i was shocked! but i was expecting the atmosphere to be pleasant and hoping the coffee was good so i didnt say anything and tipped a dollar from my wallet.

then my partner ordered her tea and sandwich. she paid ~10 dollars for both items together, which dumbfounded me. we sat and they brought HER sandwich and drink without word on my order. i was reluctant to ask because i didnt wanna seem rude, but at that time we were the only customers. then a man came in, ordered, paid, and got a bowl of soup within a few minutes. still didnt have my drink.

30 minutes goes by and i go ask if i could have my coffee please and she takes my order. i get a normal coffee, no flavor, no espresso. just regular cup of coffee. it is filled so high that its spilling hot contents on my hand as i walk back. i go take the lid off to dump or drink some and it spills all over my hand.

i really wanted it to be a nice experience but it wasnt! i am obviously biased but i felt that i was respectful and sharing the same energy and i didnt get the same treatment that my partner was receiving. very sad :( i hope the next customers get...

Absolutely adore the atmosphere here, the lofi music is the best. The people behind the counter were super sweet and kind, they were awesome. Will be frequenting more, esp to see the plant babies.

UPDATE: I returned after close as I was stranded with a dead phone. I was also crying, as the entire reason I was stranded was because of my disability. I also had a rough day. The owner was so sweet, she let me inside so I could use an outlet and made sure I was well taken care of. Place is literally never open. Not even once. Google says they're open, and they're not. Maybe I would leave a better review if I ever had the opportunity to actually try it. The menu looks great, but what's the point if you aren't open during your posted busineas hours? Change the hours and signage to reflect so that people don't drive to your store thinking they...
