I had to edit my review as the new owners are not living up to what Dollys was. The rating they have is based on previous owners, not the current ones.
Took my girlfriend there this past week, excited as it had been some time. Dollys of old was a phenomenal eatery,, wow, is it disappointing now
The coffee tasted like the smell of old cardboard
The hollandaise sauce for my girlfriends breakfast was out of a can and tasted really odd
I got the chicken fried steak. It turned out to be hamburger with a gravy that wasn't quite right. I had ordered home fries and got hash browns instead. I didn't ask for them to be replaced, they're potatoes, right? Weird metallic taste, nit sure what oil they're using, but they should stop using it.
Overall, a huge disappointment as we all used to enjoy going there, even though it was always full. I should have realized something was up as the place wasn't even half full.
We won't be back unless they really up their game.
This was my review a few years ago: Great food, huge plates, good service. Bring an appetite, its going to get tested. It's not a big place and it closes at 2pm everyday. For a very solid breakfast or lunch....if you're wanting a nap aka food coma... you're missing out if you...
Read moreNote: If you're an introvert, do not come here. Staff is loud & over the top sometimes. Just imagine that one guy at school who thinks everyone is his friend, and wants to joke & talk to you. That's how it is here.
I could tell there are regulars, who will converse with staff and often get loud. So if you're an introvert & doesn't like to cramped together with other people in what felt like a small venue, don't come here.
But, if you like to get loud, and you like the staff asking you about your entire life & what you plan on doing for the next 7 days, come here. You'll get that 100%.
Food, in my opinion, is a bit pricey. I'm not too sure what all the hype was about the breakfast foods, but it wasn't as phenomenal as other reviewers put it. Food came out quickly and was enjoyable, but nothing out of this world.
Walking out, employee was smoking near the front door. Strangely enough, no jokes or inquiries were made as that which occurred moments earlier inside. Break time meant break...
Read moreStill sitting here as a matter of fact as I write this review. This place deserves far more than 5 stars. I walked i and was greeted warmly and with a smile, by the owner I think, I’m not sure. I ordered breakfast and it came with a Ham steak. Now just recovering from surgery and only being able to eat soft foods yet, the ow er came over to me and asked me if my ham steak was ok because I hadn’t touched it yet. I told him about recovering and said I could only eat soft foods yet, that’s why I had mixed my eggs in my soft hash browns and ate those. This kind gentleman asked me if he could make me some sausages and see if cutting those up and trying those would be easier for me. Talk about observant and kind! Like I said deserves far more than 5 stars and you should definitely entry go eat there!! And by the way not only did they show concern for me, they didn’t charge me for the not 1 but 3 sausages they make special for me. World needs more places and...
