I really wanted to like this place😑Their play on smokey salsa is quite mild with a dirty undertone. The classic type salsa is way too hot . The chips are thick, like grocery store brands . You also have to pay for chips and salsa ,which is odd. I had a side of cilatro rice, which contained literally like 4 tiny skins of some type of pepper. It was very bland and dry ,considering cilantro has a bold flavor. I got 2 tacos, shrimp and asada. The shrimp has a bean spread that overpowers the fish. It was topped with again, dry, hard pieces of mango.A relish would have been welcome. It's like they just picked several boujee ingredients and tossed them together. The second taco was better, but barely. The asada meat itself had little flavor, paired with arugula,I was glad to find an additional sauce in half the taco to create some bang. Lacking traditional cilantro and onions, this taco needs something like mustard greens,or anything with bite. It's topped with goat cheese. Again, just bland on bland. I order in tacos a couple times a week bc my daughter is vegetarian . Actually,I kind of hide in the kitchen ,and we just don't talk about it 🤣So dissapointing! At $16 for 2 tacos ,a cup of rice and chips,I'm def wishing I'd have gotten Bread Company. This food was visually pleasing,w bright colors like Panera. But ,I can't eat with my eyeballs. I won't be...
Read moreWhat a gem! Amazing food, great atmosphere & vibe. This perfect little restaurant is in the cutest little area of town on the cutest little street. Gives you a neighborhood feel. Definitely a popular spot for locals. I had the best veggie Torta ever! The flavors were amazing. Everything was wrapped up in a whole wheat tortilla. Amazing!!! My daughter had chicken tacos. They didn't have hard shell tacos or flour tortillas for the tacos, but instead small corn tortillas. This is usually a deal breaker for her, but she ate every last bit of them. We ate way too much. Especially the homemade chips & salsa. Omg... so good! We ordered churros, too & I thought they were some of the best I've ever had, my daughter didn't care for them. They weren't typical churros at all. They were deep fried to perfection, with no cinnamon/sugar topping. Rather an amazing chocolate sauce to dip them in. The churros by themselves were just barely sweet, with a hint of a banana flavor. So SO good!
I highly recommend this restaurant. There's several locations around the city, all with great reviews and for good reason. It was the best meal we had while in St. Louis for a long weekend, with generous portions. If ever we're back there, this will be the 1st place we head to! Even before checking into...
Read moreI am a huge fan of mission taco and really enjoy their food. I bring all my friends here when they come to visit and frequent the CWE location. Today, I experienced the worst service at any Mission Taco I’ve ever visited. The waitress was very rude and treated us like she was too tired or just didn’t want to be there. We ordered a few margaritas and water for the table, but had to remind her 3 times to bring water. She did not come to check on us and we had to ask a different waitress walking by to refill our waters and chips. When she brought out our food we realized she misheard the order of a burrito and brought us a taco. When we asked her about the mixup she said she didn’t hear that and just assumed this is what he wanted. She never apologized and made it seem like it’s was our mistake and a huge burden for her to place the original order. She then went back to her coworkers at the bar and proceeded to complain about our table, pointing and staring at us. Another waitress came to our table and said they were having a shift change and she would be taking care of us, however our original waitress was walking around helping several other tables. She, nor a manager, apologized for the poor customer service we...
