I had no idea what I was getting into when I walked into this place. It's literally the worst of all possible worlds. First it's either $29 for the barbecue or the soup or $35 for both, so of course you take both which is way too much food. The only real difference is do you want it boiled or do you want it seared in a pan. If you're going there on a date you definitely want the soup because by the time you're done cooking the food you're going to smell worse than if you cooked it in your own kitchen! The waitresses barely spoke English so they could not explain anything to us. I guess I need to watch some YouTube videos on the different sauces and flavors to have any understanding of what I was ordering. There's a wonderful thoughts bar with 20 different flavors that mean absolutely nothing to me besides soy sauce and garlic. Instead of a buffet where you can just pick what you want you choose what you want on a menu and these cute little robots bring it out to you. The robots play the same song and after an hour you're ready to shoot yourself because you're paying $35 to eat in an ice cream truck! Want your food arrives you get to cook it! How is this a benefit? Once again if I knew how to cook the food I would have stayed home. It would be a big help if there were some recipes or sauce suggestions in order to create some flavors. To top it all off you can get an elementary school ice cream cup and chocolate vanilla or strawberry for dessert. The quality of the food is a $15 all you can eat buffet that you get to pay twice as much for and cook it yourself. My wife couldn't even finish her soup and of course they don't let you take anything with you because everyone would over order. When I saw how much food we were throwing away that we didn't eat I felt bad because it was...
Read moreThis was the second time coming to this restaurant and my last. As soon as we walked in, we were asked what type of service we wanted, either bbq or hotpot, but instead of explaining the concept to my brother and his wife, who had never been here before, the man attending us told me to explain how it works to them, as if I worked there. So not only did I have to do his job in explaining the concept, I had to ask our “waiter” where the QR code in the table was to order food because he sat us down IN THE ONLY TABLE IN THE ENTIRE RESTAURANT without a QR code, according to his exact words. He simply told me to just get up and scan another table instead of letting us eat at the table with the QR code, while laughing saying no no it’s ok, just get up and scan another table. The reason why I was able to scan another table is because there were only two other tables in the entire restaurant being occupied. And when we went to pay, he would not let us leave until we tipped him a bigger tip! He blocked our table with his body demanding a bigger tip, while his face was turning red, and until I gave him some cash, he physically did not move. The only thing the “waiter” does is bring us drinks and refills as a robot brings us our food and takes back the dirty dishes and the customers pick their own sauces and toppings. He was just sitting down watching us eat, which was very uncomfortable and passing every ten-fifteen minutes telling us the restaurant was about to close down soon, even though they were open until midnight and we finished eating at around 11:10 P.M. The chefs in the back did a phenomenal job though. Food was good.DO NOT EAT HERE. There are plenty other Korean bbq places out there....
Read moreI have been to Master Ba’s Hot Pot many times and never had an issue until my last visit. It was myself and a friend, the restaurant was slow that day (other visits I’ve seen them full) so we took our time eating and enjoying the food, as you would at a buffet.
We were there for about an hour and a half, around 40~ minutes in our waiter started being very rude. He would stand watching us, sometimes directly in front of the table. Very uncomfortable. He kept pacing between our table and the bar, making it obvious he wanted us to leave. This only got worse as the time went on.
It was an extremely uncomfortable experience for us. I would understand if the restaurant was full and the table was needed, I work in food service myself, but this was not the case. There was maybe 3 other tables taken in the entire restaurant. The waiter had turned off our BBQ without us noticing at some point, so we had been waiting for food to cook for around 15 minutes without anything happening before we realized.
In the end, the waiter had been hovering over us for about an hour in total (staring, hovering over us literally, very awkward) and brought the check legitimately as SOON as my friend put down her chopsticks. We were going to ask for a separate check and didn’t even get the opportunity to. I also wanted to order another tea to take home, but could not because he had been hovering to watch when we were done to rush us out.
Entire experience was very uncomfortable and we felt rushed the entire time. Very uncomfortable to have someone stand in front of your table, staring at you eat. I’ve never had a bad experience here before, but I’m definitely...
