It was my first time here and it left a pretty bad impression. The staff from beginning to end seemed apathetic to our existence. The server wasn’t even told she had a table, so we waited a bit just to get water. From there, service didn’t get any better. My drink was only refilled once despite having an empty glass most of the time. We weren’t given a water bottle for the table, despite seeing another couple come after us get one. Then comes the food. The artichoke and crab dip was serviceable, but it came with limp bread that made it a chore to eat. And, not enough to eat all of the dip. We got through maybe half before running out. We requested more bread, while the dip was still hot, only for the extra bread to be brought out with our meal. The dip was cold and gross by that point. The final nail in the coffin was the burger. I got the cheeseburger and requested no tomato. Well, I didn’t get tomato. I also didn’t get onion or pickles. That’s forgivable, but what’s not is the burger itself. It was an $17 burger that was on par with Burger King. The patty seemed like it was frozen and the grill marks on it looked artificial. I order medium well and it was cooked well to the point of it being dry. It even tasted like liquid smoke. The cheese on the burger wasn’t even melted. The bun was stale and the sauce was hardly seasoned. The sauce literally tasted like weak ketchup and mayonnaise. When I sit down at a restaurant and buy a burger, I expect it at to be two things: seasoned and made in house. We left spending around $100 after tip and in hindsight, I’d rather just took that money and bought ingredients to cook for myself. It’s is getting more and more difficult to find quality food in Seminole Heights. Seminole Heights used to mean something when it came to food and it’s disappointing to see it in its...
Read moreI rarely give negative reviews - check my extensive history - I know they can be important to places, so when I like a place I usually give at least 4 stars, or 5 if they deserve it. 3 if they’re OK but disappointing. This place is terrible, and we’ve given it SO MANY chances since moving to Seminole Heights. My girlfriend kept wanting to return because of the outside bar and the charcuterie selection. But every time we come, the drinks are awful - the drinks that they put on their happy hour menu - the ones that are supposed to be their specialties, because their bartenders are awful. I rarely send things back, and my girlfriend’s anxiety would rather have her die than do so, but she’s had to do so too. Tonight was the last straw. Our friend ordered a specific rum and coke - he’s weird and that’s all he drinks - but the bartender talked him into trying a different rum, but when it came it was on the rocks not with coke. He drank it anyway. Then he ordered a captain and coke, since they didn’t have his preferred rum, but they brought a jack and coke. I ordered the crusted ahi tuna, thinking it was a salad, since it’s in the salad section (weird, i know). The waitress even asked, “do you want to add some protein to that?” Which I thought was weird, since tuna is protein (the salad section that it’s in lets you add shrimp or salmon etc for an up charge). Well, I didn’t get a salad - it’s just some slices of tuna on a small plate. Our friend ordered a medium rare steak that came out medium bordering on well done. He was too nice to send it back because he felt bad that we’d already so many issues. But I hate coming here and the only reason we’ve returned is because of my girlfriend, and frankly a lack of options in this area. However, this was...
Read moreArrived without reservation but after 9pm, clients were finishing dinner and leaving, music was good, so my party was given the option to walkup to the bar or an area in the parking lot to have a beer with the temperature at 48° and dropping, great but with a party of 5, we did not want to crowd the bar, even though we were all masked up. As patrons finished their meals, tables opened, and the couple on the side of the bar we originally stood departed. The Hostess immediately placed a reserved sign on the bar she previously indicated was available for walkup, as we sat in an open parking space in the parking lot. I approached the bar maid and inquired about moving my party to one of the many tables or the bar area that had opened up as we waited for some light food ordered by one of my party as the temperature continued to drop, only to be told we have no tables. This is the second and last time I will patronize this location, and this type of insensitivity for non regulars was experienced on my last visit to this establishment about a year and a half ago. I truly expect to receive a proforma response from the Manager, defending or justifying our treatment, but at 70 years of age I have traveled and eaten and drank around the world and can say emphatically there are other nafarious actions which led to our treatment, not once but twice. Please note in my photo the many open tables with heaters, and we were cold too,,,,,paid my check, expressed my concerns to my waitress, but gave her a nice tip, because she did not deserve to be punished because of her Management's disrespect towards clientele. I suggest the managers not to try to defend this restaurant's behavior, unless they would like to have a dialogue. I know bad,...
