🏆 The Teaneck bagel showdown challenge of 2024 is now over. Teaneck Hot Bagels is the winner with better tasting bagel dough, better cooked flavor, better crunchy skin, better ingredients and a lot more raisins plus bigger raisins than Bagel Boss! Bagel Boss is still very good though. And for the best bagels in NJ and the entire country, the champion is still Cresskill Hot Bagels!

Back to the review... 01/2024 Today I got a cinnamon raisin bagel with butter and a plain bagel. The cinnamon raisin bagel was cooked very nice. It wasn't warm anymore since I arrived late in the afternoon, but the dough was still soft and moist. The quantity of raisins was perfect and they were plump and juicy. I liked the overall flavor and texture of it too. I haven't tried the plain bagel yet, but I think it will be good too.

Price is great. Just under $4 for 1 bagel with butter and 1 plain bagel. I think it's just over $1 per bagel with bigger discounts the more you buy including the usual bakers dozen deal of 1 free per 12 purchased.

Definitely use cash only. All credit cards and debit cards will cost you a huge 4% transaction fee which is very understandable since this is a mom and pop local store and not a chain restaurant.

The inside space is small but nice and cozy and clean. Very busy when I came here today, but I got helped quickly and all employees were super friendly and fast.

Tons of free parking in the back lot and a few spots available on street parallel to the entrance. But I recommend using the back parking lot instead because the on street parking is on the extremely busy and dangerous Teaneck Rd where you will find lots of speeders and lots of idiot drivers trying to cut each other off with barely enough space. Also, the road itself constantly changes between 2 lanes and 1 lane so the locals who know this will speed up and race to cut in front of other cars to get into the lane

My #1 favorite bagel of all time was from Cresskill Hot Bagels. But Teaneck Road Hot Bagels takes the crown for best bagels in NJ...

Who'da thought we would house a bagel shop in the top 50 in the Country according to Food and Wine magazine??

Coming from the Midwest 40 years ago, grocery store bagels were our only choice. We had no idea what a great bagel tasted like.

When we landed in Teaneck, we quickly learned that the East Coast was loaded with neighborhood shops claiming to be "famous" for their bagels

No matter to us, we had our own shop close enough that we could send the kids, on Sunday morning, to fetch our weekend treat.

Hot-out-of-the-oven bagels were a weekly indulgence. The household was eclectic with flavor preferances: 1 salt, 2 everything, 1 pumpernickle, please. Curiously, we topped ours with cream cheese and tuna salad...can't tell you how many people we have turn on to this combination. Can't tell you how many dozen we have packed into our suitcases to take home to family in St Louis.

Low and behold, a couple of years ago, word got out. Our lil gem was certifiably famous!

We went here ok Sunday morning at 11:30 a.m. on January 8, 2023 before heading to the church. We always pass by when coming from NY to attend the Church on Cresskill and we always see the lines standing there waiting to get in and get the bagels. So today after 3 years we decided to stop by and have a bagel and try because we had plenty of time before arriving to the service. They are basic place for bagels. You pick your bagels and then you can only cream cheese; either original or with flavors. No extra cheese or eggs or bacon or vegetables are added to the bagel. Bagel and cream cheese as simple as. If you love only those two options then it is good to try and you will definitely like it. But if you like your bagel full of real food then you might consider hitting different...
