July 6, 2023 hours show open until 3pm. It's lunchtime - 1:30pm but the doors are locked, lights are off, and parking lot is empty. I hope everything's ok work this business.
UPDATED: They reopened some months ago. The interior completely changed. I love the Sakura tree at the entrance. The seating area is bright and fresh compared to the dingy appearance from before. They still have the hibachi section with a show if you choose that with your family. Their menu now includes Vietnamese cuisine.
We usually dine in the common seating area. They've got entertaining sights on the big screen TV's. There are booths, benches, and tables for two. It appears more inviting. Next time I think I'd want to sit at the bar area in front of the sushi chef.
They may get busy but the service is really warm and friendly. There was only one chef making our rolls, but I like that the food was served in good, spaced apart timing, because we wouldn't have enough space on the table otherwise.
We were super satisfied with our order: Garlic Edamame Tiger roll Rainforest roll Spicy tuna roll Sakura roll Note the Grilled Chicken rice plate was a little on the dry side, but it was a large portioned plate.
It's great to see they're back in business!
OLD REVIEW: We enjoy coming here because of their freshly made butter-like fish nigiri. Our favorite appetizer is their tuna nachos. Our meals are always served with miso salad and soup. We love Jamie. She remembers us everytime we walk in, she's super pleasant, her service is attentive, and she's a...
Read moreThis was the most disappointing restaurant experience of my life.
Our initial server was very personable and on top of things. He pleasantly greeted and cleaned a both for us, but was replaced after verifying our drink order with a disinterested, disorganized, and confused staff member. The empty table beside us remained covered in rice for the duration of our visit
After a not insignificant wait, our "house salads" (three leaves of lettuce and a rumor of carrot) and soups (not the soup I ordered, not one I would eat, but a soup nonetheless) came out the same time as my husband's entree. My meal would be delayed.
Then the appetizer was served (yay! I get to eat too!), Followed later by my entree. But only part of it. Later, I would get the sauce to go with it (one positive of the meal-the dipping sauce was actually delicious). Eventually the fried rice for my entree would arrive, but had an inedible chemical taint to it. My shrimp was quite overcooked and rubbery for my preference, but someone else might like it.
So, my half of a fifty dollar meal effectively consisted of the wrong soup, inedible rice, rubber shrimp, and a few pieces each of lettuce, carrot, onion, and zucchini. I left very, very hungry, and never got the lemon I was offered for my water (which I was never offered a refill on).
Hubby said his meal was just okay, minus the long wait, bumbling service, and a drink that was refilled with the wrong...
Read moreWent back to day to try the hibachi experience and wasn’t disappointed. Service was a bit slow starting out but recovered. We ordered a sushi roll to start which was very good but slices were too big for one bit making it awkward to eat. Those are my only complains. Our chef was very entertaining and the food was nothing short of delicious. See pics.
Yoshi’s is back open and better than ever. Starting off with the atmosphere, the restaurant looks great with bright colors and an open dining area. When I walked in I was quickly greeted, seated and my drink order taken. For my entree I ordered the shrimp fried rice with Miso soup. The soup came out first and like Miso soup should be it had a subtle but very good flavor. The star of the show was my shrimp fried rice. I was pleased to see that this restaurant doesn’t feel the need to put peas in their rice. I sampled the rice before adding soy sauce and honestly it didn’t need a thing. It was delicious right out of the kitchen. The dish came with a generous amount of shrimp and they were de-tailed, deveined and cooked perfectly. I really enjoyed my experience here and will be back with the family to try the hibachi experience. Good food and atmosphere are only 2/3 of the experience though. Service is what pulls it all together. My server Shane didn’t disappoint he was very attentive and my drink was never empty for any appreciable amount of time....
