I have frequented this restaurant for many years and this day was extremely disappointing. I arrived to the restaurant to find out that they were out of multiple menu items and several sodas and beverages. Thinking this was a bad sign, I asked if the restaurant changed hands recently. Thankfully, it did not. I ordered my 3rd choice beverage and my choice of entree. I received root beer which was good, and I then requested a bowl of chicken soup along with my main order of Shepherds pie. My soup arrived... cold. Not room temperature, but refrigerator cold. When the waiter came back, he asked me if I wanted it re-microwaved... I declined and asked to have it removed from my bill. Meanwhile, I waited for almost 25 minutes watching another table to my left complain of cold and "tough as leather" meat. A Mennonite family sitting in the booth in front of me received their drinks and were still awaiting on their order. There was a large party in the other room, and the room I was in with several other booths were practically being ignored. The young lady who is usually the hostess tried her best to cover for the missing waitstaff, but was not used to that responsibility. Finally after sitting there for almost 40 minutes, my Shepherds pie came. It was delicious and hot. I asked what happened this evening, and everyone mentioned it was a bad night; that they were out of many things, and obviously frustrated. My wife tipped the hostess lady well. She seemed to be the only one who knew what she was doing. My wife's food was good; chicken parm sandwich on garlic bread and fresh cut fries with her 4th choice beverage of rasberry iced tea. Needless to say, this WAS a bad night; poor supply planning, poor preparation, and very poor floor management. Hopefully this was just a "freaky friday", because if this restaurant continues in this direction, it will surely close it's doors by it's own actions. The ONLY reason I gave this review a single star was because of the young hostess lady. Step up your game owners and managers! I know the quality and top notch service your establishment has always impressed me and your other clientele with... no excuses... let tonight be a prompting to change direction...
Read moreGood food, lacking service. We stopped by Sunday around 12:30. The lunch crowd was leaving and within a few minutes there were only 4 tables with people. Atmosphere was diner (the water stained ceiling tiles didn't look great). The waitress stopped by to ask if we were ready, when we weren't she didn't come back for a good 10 minutes (despite not being busy). We ordered Caesar chicken wraps, a grilled chicken wrap and a Pittsburgh Salad. We waited forty minutes for our food to arrive. One other table got food while we were waiting. I don't fault the wait staff for the delay (who knows what was going on in the kitchen), but with that long of a delay I would expect a word of explanation, or even just a quick "Sorry your food is taking so long." We got nothing, no comment, no stop by to check, not even an apology for the wait when the food came. I do understand that smaller places which make your food when you order take longer, but given what we ordered, there was no way 40 plus minutes in an almost empty restaurant is acceptable. And if there was some problem in the kitchen, at least stop by and explain it. Very poor service all around. The food, once it finally arrived was very good. A Pittsburgh Salad is a salad topped with bacon, croutons, fried beef (which had a wonderful flavor) and lots of French fries. It was probably about as unhealthy as a salad could be, but tasted delicious. The Caesar chicken wraps (and chicken wrap), according to my wife and daughters, were very good as well. They each came with chips. I doubt I'll be back. Which is too bad because the food really was quite good. But the service just is not something I think I'd want to experience again. One other note of warning. They have a menu on their website which is pretty accurate as far as what they serve, but the actual in restaurant prices are much, much higher that the website. For example my Pittsburgh Salad cost $6 more than what the website said. I realize prices go up, and the prices we paid were fair, but they really need to update that menu on...

Me and my family went in. At first it started okay since we started out ordering drinks, one of the drinks being a root beer. When the server came back she just gave drinks out randomly so we had to figure out which was which. As for the root beer we received a Coke instead. Feeling it could have been an error I tried to call the server back.
As I was signaling her to come over I believe she saw me but ignored it. My wife and stepdaughter tried to restrain me from doing that, saying that I should be patient. But after 15 minutes and signaling at least 5 times (it was not easy for me to hold back) it became apparent that the server didn't care so I asked her other co-worker, who wasn't much of a help either, to give us the root beer.
The food took forever to come out. I saw other customers waiting for their food and they looked frustrated for the wait. Eventually, after 45 minutes, the food came out. My stepson received a wrong variation of what he ordered but the server was insisting that he take it. His mother refused for him and when the server took it back, she and her co-worker were talking about this behind our backs. Eventually they served the right order.
In addition my wife's onion rings were burnt. AVOID THE MAC AND CHEESE AT ALL COSTS!! Otherwise the food in general at best was so-so.
If this restaurant was in New York City it would have been rated a C on the outside display they make restaurants do there for people's safety, which is the worst grade a restaurant can get, meaning that it should be condemned and shut down. Maybe the Lancaster County Department of Health should look into this establishment.
Needless to say....NEVER AGAIN. I'm just looking out for you all...
