New Golden House — Restaurant in Toronto

This is the best Chinese food I've had in the valley. I ordered a roast pork egg foo young combo with fried rice and an egg roll. It was delicious. The first thing I noticed was the gravy. It didn't look like any gravy I've ever had from a Chinese restaurant. Most Chinese restaurant gravy I've had has been mostly just thickened broth. This gravy was peppery, savory, and rich. I am saving the rest to have with biscuits it's so good! The egg foo young patties were huge! They barely fit in the container and they were loaded with delicious roast pork and diced veggies. It wasn't too greasy or soggy at all, which is sometimes a problem with carry out egg foo young. They have delicious fried rice here. The wok has a great flavor to it, and the oil is good and fresh. The egg roll was good too. My husband got the beef with broccoli and he loved the sauce and the veggies were super fresh and perfectly cooked. My son got the sweet and sour chicken and it had a delicious light and crispy breading, which once again is difficult with carry out, but they nailed it! Service: Absolutely awesome the staff is very nice and friendly they are always there for you if they need you. Food: damn my big self loves their shrimp so this is a little biased but it’s so goooood however I’ve had almost everything on their menu and I’ve got to say their food has never disappointed me. Atmosphere: I enjoy sitting with my friends on the inside and it’s nice to take out it’s not confusing or anything but not much to say

Thank you for being open in a small town like Toronto. This area needs more places like this that add a little culture. The food was tasty and prepared quickly. The prices were fair. The only thing I would say needs work is the amount of spice. That might have more to do with appealing to the clientele in this area, but the spicier dishes could definitely be taken up a notch to bring more heat. Again though...thank you!
