Shakey's Pizza Parlor — Restaurant in Torrance

The food is like most Shakeys good and served hot. It was almost empty on the night we came in. I stood there as I usually do figuring out what to order for my family according to what they asked for and what meal deals were available. I finally walked up to the register with a plan in my head about what I was going to get. When I ordered the pizza and mojos for $19.99 and a 12 piece chicken t, the girl at the register cut me off saying that some other deal would give me the chicken,pizza and mojos I wanted for a better price. I had figured my meal would come out to around $40 which included 2 salad bars and 4 drinks. Well I went ahead and ordered the meal deal she suggested. Then I told her I wanted 2 all you can eat salads and she cut me off mid sentence and told me she was going to give me some OTHER deal that would get e me the salads and other meal items I wanted for a better price. So I agreed, I mean who doesn't want to save a little money right? When she finally charged me, it ended up being right around $47. No biggie a few dollars more than I had figured but oh well. So I went to sit down and realized I hadn't gotten my drink cups or the plates for the salad bar which we discussed I was ordering. When I went back to ask her for them, she asked me for the receipt which SHE HAD JUST HANDED ME and said "oh, I didn't charge you for them" I was like ????? You sat here and rearranged my order which you said was to save me money! Not only did you charge me MORE than I had anticipated but you didn't give me ANY of what I had asked for. Anyway, I went over the receipt and she charged me for the salad and drinks which came out to my entire meal costing nearly $60, $20 more than I had figured with the way I had decided to order but i figured it was my fault for not just going with the meal the way i wanted it. Anyway, my kids played in the arcade for a while, we all ate and enjoyed our food so I didn't let it bother me for too long. As we were leaving, we thanked the staff as we usually do when we leave a restaurant then I turned to walk out and wouldn't you know it, there was a cockroach on the floor just starting to walk up the wall. Needless to say, I will never be going to this...

We're from out of town, so we came here because one our party was dying to eat the mojo potatoes. Half of our party arrived at around 8:30pm, and they ordered their food. The rest of us arrived at roughly 8:50pm, and placed an order as well. The girl running the register (with dark hair and piercings) acted as though we were disturbing her in her own private residence. She didn't talk to us unless asked a direct question, and ended up pulling her phone out to text while we were ordering. She also answered the phone while we ordered. We ordered a pizza and the salad bar. She didn't hand us our plates, so we had to head back up to the counter and ask for them. We all sat around talking, waiting for our orders, until we realized it was coming up on an hour since the first half of our party ordered. When someone went up to inquire why it was taking so long, we were told that our order was 'next'. As far as we could tell, the girl at the counter decided not to pass the orders over to the guy in the kitchen in the front until we came back up, as we were basically the only customers who had come in after 8:30. The girl who took the orders had zero communication with us after we ordered (though we did see her texting behind various counters); the gentleman in the kitchen not only spoke when we came up, but also made the food and brought it out to us. He apologized numerous times, and brought us extra mojo potatoes and chicken wings. Honestly, for all he did to remedy the situation, I'd give him 5 stars all by himself. He really did try to go above and beyond. The food itself was delicious, but the hour and a half wait due to the lack of caring on the girl's part was frustrating...

OK,so let me just say.My morning start was a very busy one,with the family.My little daughter was super tired,and my wife was just like,just go anywhere.I have a headache,and I'm super hungry.So I just got on my phone and Google for a Shakey's .I called they picked up,and once I was done I shot straight over to them as fast as I could so I could be there by 1:30.And I just have to say GOD is GREAT.I met the new owner he treated me like family without knowing not a thing about me.He took care of my crying little daughter who,would not stop crying over a horse that I could not buy,you had to win it.The owner came over to me, without me knowing he was actually the new owner and asked what was wrong and is there anything he could do for me or my little girl.So we just started talking,about stuff and really not why my daughter was crying and wouldn't stop.But he asked me what was wrong with my daughter,and I just said,she was crying over a horse in the display case with the prizes.So he said show me what she's talking about,he walked behind the case opened it up and grabbed the package with the horse in it and handed it to her.My daughter stopped crying instantly.Come to find out not only does he have two small little girls as to why he bought the place,but it's because he has GOD and JESUS in his life.Can I get an AMEN.He honestly made my hole time I was there, feel like I was part of his family.This is a place where I want to come with my family for now on for sure,and you should too.Thank you so very much for all you...
