The food may be good, but that’s the only important positive. Unfortunately you can expect a 2-3 hour wait from the time you come in to get your food. No, that is not an exaggeration. I timed it. My wait was closer to 3 hours actually but I think the people before us had a closer to 2 hour wait. They were all finished their meal before the one steak I ordered arrived. At least half an hour passed between the last table getting their meal and nothing came out of the kitchen in that time. How long does it take to cook one steak medium rare again??? But I suppose I should have clued in when it took the bartender 10-15 min to take an order at the bar where everyone had to wait for a table to open. Even though there multiple tables unoccupied in the dining area. Literally everyone who sat down had to wait that long just to get her to take their drink order, and there were only about 10 people at the bar at any given time. They can’t blame it on drink orders from the dining area upstairs either because no one up there seemed to be able to get any drinks ordered either. It’s a good thing I ordered 2 drinks at the bar and was able to take 1 upstairs. The hour and a half I had to wait for my food after I ordered it upstairs my waitress didn’t come one time to see if I wanted another drink or even more water. Not once in that hour and a half did she even check up on me. I watched another table get half their food and then it took about 15 min for the rest of the table to get their food. I also watched a couple with a baby walk out after they had been waiting for their meal for an hour and a half with no meal in sight. I don’t blame them, their baby was starting to fuss and I’m sure when they went out for supper here they weren’t expecting to have to spend the night waiting for their food. So if you want a decent but expensive meal and have a good 3 hours to kill with nothing better to do, I guess this is the...
Read moreMy traveling companions raved about the steak here. They let me know how memorable the experience was for them so we decided to give it a go. Food - absolutely worth it. I had 1/2 rack of lamb and it was glazed in a sauce that was complex on its own, but highlighted the lamb in a way that I've never tasted before. As if the lamb wasn't enough, there was a potato that was served with it. The spud was dressed in a bit of ranch dressing and topped with green onion and bacon bits. If I could have had a plateful of the potatoes as my meal, I would have. They are undescribable and hands down the best side potato I've had. The homemade bread was served warm. The aroma of fresh baked bread danced across the table when it was sliced into. The bread before a meal can often reflect the rest of the experience. No one in my party was disappointed by their meals. This place is an absolute must if and when you make it to the East Glacier. National Park area. The staff was incredible. The hostess was gracious warm and kind. Our waitress was wonderful and attentive. I couldn't give a full 5 stars for a few reasons. The silverware wasn't "Polished" meaning there were sanitizer streaks over all the flatware. The cups and wine glasses were plastic with the aforementioned sterilizer streaks. Each guest is provided with 1 paper napkin for the entire meal. What I'm saying is the food is executed at such a high rate that many of the details don't seem to matter - but they should. Plastic aside, it can still be polished and clear of any streaks. The upstairs bathroom was fine, but there were no towels in the dispenser. Instead a quarter roll was placed atop the dispenser. There were empty soap containers strewn across the sink. I realize this restaurant exists in Babb, MT. If anything I argue that this is the very reason why the details shouldn't...
Read moreWent into the restaurant after a long day of hiking, it looks like a beautiful place inside and we were very excited to eat some steak, however the customer service was horrible. I can’t speak for the food because we never ate anything, but from the beginning, a waitress passed by us, we were looking at her, directly in her line of sight to ask a question because we didn’t know if the restaurant was upstairs or if we could get a table downstairs, and she didn’t even stop to say hello or welcome, and she definitely saw us because she looked right at us when we were gonna ask her a question and just kept walking. Then she went and sat down at the bar with another girl and started talking with her for a long time, so we thought maybe we were wrong and she was not an employee (even though she had an apron) and that we were just mistaken, only to later find out that she was definitely a waitress because when we finally went upstairs to reserve a table she passed by us with the other waitress she was talking with, to keep taking orders from the tables upstairs. We were waiting to be seated then for a while but there was no hostess, and while waiting another group came in while an older couple walked out, saying to not bother eating here because the food will literally take 3 hours to come out to you, and that’s not including the wait. There were plenty of tables open and I understand if maybe they’re short staffed, but to not even say hello to a customer, walk off and sit down right in front of them to converse with your coworker is extremely rude. Would not waste...
