Sandwich Bar 5 Towns — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

I’ve been a loyal Main Street KGH Queens customer for 10+ years. I heard they opened in Lawrence and finally hit up their location because I was in the area and craving some Sandwich Bar eats. I ordered a double burger with grilled onions and jalapeños and topped with a nice and runny tender fried egg and let me tell you that burger was juicy and tasty. I also ordered the chicken bites with mango jalapeño side sauce and they hit the spot. B’emet the meat patty was super flavorful and I could taste the grilled vibe. The buns super fresh and the size of that sandwich was massive - and for the price, half of anywhere else and ten times better. You walk away with a super satisfied belly and good energy and know that at the price point you can literally go back for a whole other second meal for the same price as one elsewhere. And they stay open super late to accommodate those late nite munchies you get after a long day’s work. Hands down best spot. Plus I love their no nonsense, no shtick, vibe. Family owned and managed, always greeted with a friendly smile and you can tell the food is always made with love and soul. Writing this review on the toilet. We were some of the only people in the restaurant and somehow our food took like 20-30min (weird because what we ordered was also on the “express” portion of the menu). Not sure what they put in it but I haven’t felt like this in ages. There are significantly better kosher options just down the block. I’d recommend Smash House’s fried chicken sandwich, or a schnitzel sandwich from holy before I ever come back to this place. 0/10

The staff was very nicely dressed, I had a good first impression of the establishment. I ordered a hamburger but it came with no toppings or condiments. Not sure why but after I ate it my stomach started to hurt too. The burger was very poorly made, just barely edible. The location was clean however during my time there a group of young guys that came in and kept looking at me funny and walking very close to me.
