I wanted to give them 4 stars but some dishes they cannot get right. They are an old-style American Cantonese restaurant, get that straight. They can make Cantonese style food (and some authentic dishes actually) but you need to be able to tell them in their native tongue otherwise they may think you're crazy. Sichuan dishes there are just full of red chilis so don't expect that being too authentic.
Now the fried dishes, such as General Tso and Sweet and Sour are really Shanghainese dishes which still they have yet to master. The batter is wrong, chicken is cut wrong, over fried and batter always flakes off.
If you like old-style American-Chinese-Cantonese food, this place is pretty cool. The atmosphere is nostalgic (dated). Seriously, they have a Tiki bar! The place does not feel spotless but it is comfortable which is important. They're not putting too much effort on the upkeep of the place and I am concerned about their future since the county health department has been cracking down. I would like to see them put some effort into modernizing, even if just a little.
Overall, the food is tasty and the service is pretty good. It would be best to eat in as their food is better freshly out of...
Read moreI read some of the negative reviews but I had a 5 star experience. 1st, the atmosphere was classic, sit down Chinese Restaurant I grew up with in Queens. I loved everything about the interior. It brought back wonderful memories. 2nd, it was a classic Chinese menu , not the new Asian Fusion over priced empty plate restaurant that is trending. Tea pot was on the table and I did not have to ask. I ordered the shrimp chow mein platter and it came with the classic spaghetti type crunchy noodles!! It was the best Shrimp Chow Mein ever !!! 3rd. The waiter was extremely nice, attentive and I even took home leftovers in which he gave me extra bags of noodles. This is my new go to Chinese Restaurant after golf. It's difficult to find a classic Chinese Restaurant today, please...
Read moreWorst Chinese food EVER and almost triple the price of other comparable Chinese restaurants. They used to be good, last 3 $100 orders were wrong and/or terribly stale/rotten. Called them and all you get is an argument. They never try to fix the issue or mistake, they just make excuses and blame the customer. $300 worth of food and they won't even offer a refund for the wrong/bad items. They even tell you to get in your car to drive back 8 miles and return the bad or wrong food. They lost a long time group of customers. Good luck keeping the doors open with that terrible food and service that's ridiculously overpriced. RIDICULOUS!!! Ordered food for 4 people tonight ($90) and all 4 have to eat...
