After hiking in Harriman State Park, our go-to spot for dinner is always Rhodes North Tavern, where we almost always indulge in their cheeseburgers. During our visit about a month ago, we stuck to our routine and ordered our cheeseburgers medium rare, accompanied by a side of French fries. To our satisfaction, our order was spot-on! The cheeseburgers were cooked impeccably, boasting a delightful pink and juicy interior. Admittedly, they leaned a tad towards medium, but hey, that's why we opt for medium rare, right? ;) However, the French fries didn't quite hit the mark. They had an odd taste, almost like they were sprinkled with something resembling sand. It was a bit disappointing considering how well the burgers were prepared. On a previous occasion, my husband decided to deviate from our cheeseburger tradition and opted for the ribeye steak, while I settled for the half-roasted chicken, as I wasn't feeling like having red meat that day. Unfortunately, neither of our dishes lived up to expectations. My husband's steak, despite being cooked to his liking, was disappointingly tough and sinewy. It was quite a challenge to eat. My chicken, ordered plain without any sauces, had an unusual yellow color and an off-putting taste. Initially, I suspected it might not have been fresh, but it's possible that it was due to some spices or seasoning that didn't agree with my palate. I managed to eat some of it, but it wasn't an enjoyable experience, so I ended up mainly sticking to the mashed potatoes. Despite the less-than-stellar experience with non-burger dishes, Rhodes North Tavern remains a top choice for burger enthusiasts. The service is consistently excellent, and the ambiance of the restaurant is quite pleasant. Overall, I still recommend giving this place a try, especially if you're in the mood for a delicious burger!

I don’t know about the other reviews but I had a great experience here. From the employees to the delicious the food we had. It is a great family restaurant! Location: It is located in Sloatsburg. Free parking at the side. Cute bears will greet you. I believe it is a house that is converted to a restaurant. The interior is huge with a lot of seating. It is clean and it’s a family oriented restaurant with bar and live ban inside. Service: We were greeted by the cute grandma! She is very nice and accommodating. Our server is nice as well, he give us good recommendations. Food: Food here is delicious! GRILLED MONTREAL RIBEYE: this was so delicious, and you could tell it is not mass produce unlike other restaurant, good pairing with the mashed potato. HALF RACK RIBS: another favorite! The ribs falls out the bone! SHRIMP ARTICHOKE: omg the shrimps are huge and the sauce is creamy delicious. CAESAR SALAD: best salad I had! The dressing you can tell that it is fresh, smells like egg! OPEN FACED REUBEN: my brother in law said it was okay. Huge sandwich tho! CHEESE PIZZA: my nephew loves it! He ate half of it. COD SALAD: limited only, my dad loves it and says it is perfectly seasoned. Price rating: 7/10, price matches the delicious food. Will definitely come back when I visit Sloatsburg, it was family oriented! Nice service! Get the ribeye and shrimp artichoke!

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE I came here with a group of 17 people. My friends had been here before and claimed the food was good. Now, our experience was different. We all waited over an hour for our food. And when it finally came, it was horrible. The portion sizes were unreasonable small. I paid $15.95 for garlic lime shrimp and there was only 6 small shrimp in the plate. My friend paid 15.95 for 2 scallops and a small amount of vegetables. My other friend said her cake tasted like it was from an entenmanns box. And EVERYONE (all 17 people) said they were not satisfied with their order. Now even after we complained, the waitress had the nerve to add the gratuity to the bill. Before we left we spoke to the manager, Carol. She was so nasty and disrespectful and did not bother to compensate our complaints in any way! PS Go to Dottie Audrey’s instead their food is phenomenal! And it’s not far from here.

All the food here is good quality, especially the meat since their butcher is inhouse. The mussels are great too! This was also my go-to place for wings and beer for a while. They have a nice selection of beers on tap and the bar is cozy as are the booths. Joe the bartender is a real character and tends to make the bar experience quite entertaining! Prices went up a bit since covid but I guess that's to be expected. There's live music on the weekends and trivia nights are fun too. I love all the witty slogans on the walls. It's nice to visit Rhodes any season, space outback is nice for warmer days and the inside is cozy on cold or rainy nights.

I occasionally visit this restaurant when I am in the area after doing some hiking at Harriman State Park ( it’s a 5 min drive) so very convenient to get here and fuel up before driving back home. I enjoy eating here, it has always been good food (good portions) good service and reasonable prices. My to go is the burger which fills me up and I like the fact that the meat is good quality and cooked correctly, the Cesar salad is also delicious, fresh and crunchy and adding bacon pieces adds a little more fun to it. Lots of options to check out in the menu, plenty of space to park and kind service it’s always a plus.

We love Rhodes! After a lovely hike at 7 lakes my boyfriend and myself always stop in for dinner or lunch ! On this day the sun was out, and it was Taco Tuesday! We dined outside, and enjoyed fish & chicken tacos. Food is delicious here!! Later we moved inside, sat at the bar and enjoyed a crisp cold Budweiser and an angry orchard on tap! I have been here to see my friends band in past and this place gets packed! Tuesday night is also bike night for all you riders! Lots of parking just for bikes too! The food is always delicious, service is always great and the atmosphere is inviting!
