Went there April 14th as a family of adults to celebrate a birthday. They were moderately busy, the patrons consisted of 2 families with children, 3 tables of 4 adults chatting, 3 couples dining alone-1 of which was seated at the far end of a long table as everything but bar seating was taken. As we were being seated a van limo stopped out front. A minimum of 10 extremely intoxicated, vulgar, loud, & rude women staggered out & came into the restaurant. Needless to say, everyone's dinner was destroyed. They overtook the long table basically pushing the couple at the far end to the very edge of their table. They made conversation, getting to the restrooms, & ignoring them impossible. There was obviously no one in charge staff wise because they ordered round after round of shots, multiple beers & mixed drinks. As a retired bartender I was shocked that the staff continued to serve them even with random ones actually falling out of their chairs onto the floor. Designated driver or not a responsible establishment never serves anyone so obviously extremely intoxicated. It took our food order close to an hour to come to our table with 2 of our 4 meals cold & 1 other wrong. The servers were terrible never once returning to our table to check drinks or update us on our order throughout the 55 min wait for our meals. Everyone there that evening commented to nearby customers all stunned by the drunken idiot show-they were also dressed in torn fishnet body suits, torn tutus, & were oblivious to the fact that they exposed everything as they fell, layed across chairs, & across the table. I felt the worst for the 2 families with children & the 2 older couples. One of the families was multigenerational ranging from elderly to toddlers. All in all this group of drunken, obnoxious women were allowed to ruin the experience of at least 25-30 customers who were there before they staggered in. For the waitstaff to ignore so many paying customers & instead cater to feeding shots, drinks, & a couple of shared appetizers to people any responsible bar/restaurant would have turned away show a complete disregard to us all. My God, with children no more than 10ft away these women were pulling up each others skirts, pulling their tops down exposing themselves, yelling down their table in explicit sexual detail, loudly cursing always with F this & MF that. I'm all for raising some hell & getting crazy but theres a time & place for that type of behavior & a restaurant full of diners at 6pm on a Sunday definitely is not the place. Hell, they even ran off 2 different men sitting at the bar trying to have a beer & watch a game! Because the staff at Limp Lizard not only allowed this but encouraged it by serving them more booze at least 8 times in the hour & a half I was there all while ignoring the other patrons, screwing up many of our orders, not removing empty dishes from our tables, not acknowledging our existence as we waited a ridiculous length of time for our cold & wrong meals....myself, & from the talk at the other tables, I'd say everyone else there that night will not be returning. I'd say they need to always have someone in charge with the authority & ability to run a bar/restaurant ensuring timely orders, kitchen accuracy & attentiveness, servers who actually serve, & the backbone to refuse service when neccessary for the sake of all of their paying customers there to enjoy a meal, a few drinks, conversation or maybe a game on 1 of the TVs. On the upside the catfish filet...
Read moreMy out of town brother selected Limp Lizard for our meetup. No wait at the bar. I asked for a recommendation for a summer friendly coctail and was served a pineapple upside down cake martini! Pineapple, vanilla delish! We moved to an outdoor table with village view. Service was friendly and attentive at the bar and the patio. The guys both had rib dinners one with Mac and cheese and hell Fire chili. Cucumber salad and fries. I ordered a brisket bbq sandwich with Mac cheese and the chili as well. The guys loved the ribs and the Smokey bbq flavor. Mac and cheese was a hit, so creamy and blend of cheeses. Their hellfire chili is debatable, I enjoy it but it’s not your classic chili, consists of mostly seasoned ground beef that packs a little heat it’s definitely not close to hell fire for me topped with a bit of cheese and sour cream. It lacks moisture that crushed tomato, tomato paste or broth would improve viscosity. The brisket sandwich is huge with a Smokey bbq flavor topped with cheese and bacon. Some fatty bites but to be expected. Rage review from the guys voting for LL ribs over DBQ! Ifykyk the smokiness sets them apart!
We visited the restaurant a Sunday earlier in December it was moderately busy and sat at the bar. Bartender friendly and provided good customer service but as the evening transpired she definitely could have used some help behind the bar. My fiancé had the smoked chicken with double mashed potatoes. It’s interesting how the sides come in small plastic containers even if you dine in, that’s portion control. I had the brisket, hellfire chili, and Mac and cheese, and corn bread. I do recommend the jalapeño corn bread! He really enjoyed the smoked chicken as it was moist and a nice smoked flavor with bbq sauce. The brisket was a bit fatty and lacking moisture and seasoning. I’m not a bbq aficionado so it was fine with plenty of bbq sauce. Their Mac and cheese is always a classic comfort food side along with their mashed potatoes and gravy. The hellfire chili was not as spicy hot as the name suggests, but seasoned with a kick for sure. The Chili is bean free which I like but it also needed more moisture, it really is a cup of seasoned meet topped with cheese. I added bbq sauce to the chili and it was very tasty. I’d love some jalapeños on top and a dollop of sour cream! I love the mural of the lizards in the desert that emulates the Village of Liverpool, really unique touch! Getting the check took some time at the end of our meal, business was picking up and only one bartender to accommodate all the bar guests and drinks for restaurant diners. I think the check was around $50-$60 with two...
Read moreI have contemplated whether or not I should post this because I am a bar manager and generally am extremely passive and understanding with restaurants and their workers, but this was the worst dining experience i ever had.
I will never forget I was having an extremely hard day, and I decided to go out to eat with my man. We went to limp lizard because I had been craving barbecue; well it turns out it was the takeout one so we decided to leave and drive 20 mins to go to the Liverpool one so we could have a sit down experience. Big mistake. This server was the worst server I’ve ever had in my entire life. It took them 15 minutes to even greet us and get us waters. I don’t think in my entire career that I’ve ever taken that long to serve somebody a drink .
Finally, I asked, “are you guys short staffed today?” because I assumed to take that long, it would need to be a ridiculously difficult situation. The server went quiet. She stared at me with fire in her eyes and said “no, why?”
My partner stated, “because it took 15 minutes to even greet us.” She said, “no it didn’t?” We conceded. I was not in the mood. We ordered our food and tried to be quiet and nice. For the rest of the meal, we were extremely uncomfortable and I was fuming. she was extremely rude to us for the rest of the interaction, snapping at us and making us feel like unwanted guests. I can’t believe we got treated that way. The server looked like she rolled out of bed, jeans and a flannel on, and you know what? I’ve been a bartender/ server for 15 years. I have never been treated that way or treated anyone that way, and I have enough self-respect to dress for the occasion.
I am livid. My partner tipped her almost $20 and she changed her tune, but too late. I am so angry. I have never been humiliated and angry like this, and I have never been treated that way by a server, or treated anyone that way myself We felt like we were walking on eggshells, and each time she spoke she kept her lips pursed and barely whispered, because of how angry she was.
Girl, if you can’t handle the heat, get out of the kitchen. Shameful and tbh she needs to go work at wegmans, she can’t handle being a server. Fire her.
Since I’m not a jerk, I won’t state her name. But it says a lot about the restaurant that they weren’t noticing her being this terrible of a server.
Food was edible I guess. Collard greens disgusting but the pulled...
