Decided to go here bc it was late (8:45-9:00pm) and they’re open till ten, well red flag number one should have been that me and my boyfriend were the only people there, red flag number two should have been the guy asking us to pay before we were seated ($46 for 2ppl) red flag number three would have been the fact the table they sat us at was dirty, and instead of seating us at a clean one (as I said we were the only ones there so there was multiple other tables to seat us at) the lady cleaned the table (with a dry napkin from the table) right in-front of us then sat us down. Now on to the food, everything looked like it had been sitting (which I expected with the time of night) but what I didn’t expect was everything to be cold, and taste like it was days old, I’ve made rice at home and I know it gets hard after sitting in the fridge for a day or two and that’s exactly what this was. My rice was crunchy, the sweet and sour chicken was cold, as were the wontons, and the stuffed mushrooms felt like biting into mush. After tasting the food and the reality of us being the only people there set in, I decided to pull out my phone and read the reviews. (I’m very glad I did) I saw multiple reviews about how multiple customers were being chased out the door for not leaving a tip while trying to leave, every single review had a similar experience to us. Seeing this and showing my boyfriend we then feared the same would happen to us, as per the lady was hovering around us the whole time, but couldn’t bother to clear our table till we were about to leave, we “ate” with all our untouched food still sitting next to us. Seeing the reviews and factoring in everything I stated above, we decided to slip out while she stepped to the back to avoid confrontation, as we walked out we happened to look back thru the window of the establishment and the women was speed-walking to our table, noticed we didn’t leave a tip and starting watching us out the window, shaking her head at us. It honestly made me very uncomfortable and anxious. I really wish we read the reviews before coming, we would have saved 46 bucks and I wouldn’t have a stomach ache while writing this. I usually don’t care enough to leave a review but I wish I would’ve been more prepared. I think what freaked me out the most was reading that the staff would chase people out yelling, arguing and even cussing, the moment I read that (in multiple different reviews as far back as over a year ago), my stomach immediately dropped and I started to feel anxious, I immediately wanted to leave, Definitely...
Read more6/2/24 My family and I dined at this establishment tonight at my brother's recommendation. The food and atmosphere itself was fine as far as buffets go, a solid 2.5 stars. We did find it a little odd that we were paying for our meal and ordering our drinks before we were even sat, but recognize a lot has changed since COVID and thought maybe this place had taken on something similar to what we've seen in a lot of counter restaurants, largely doing away with dedicated personal service and tipping culture; or maybe they've built tips into their prices and it's not an issue. Either way, we paid for our meal and thought it was all taken care of. As we got up to leave, a waitress let my family leave but stopped me at the door saying my boyfriend (who was my husband) didn't leave a tip. This was in front of the reception desk which was full of people. I explained that we were told to pay before we even got served and don't carry cash and asked what she wanted us to do. She followed me out the door, telling my husband they brought us soda and took out plates and we had to tip them. I asked if the young man standing at the front desk would run our card for just a tip and she beckoned my husband inside, found his receipt and instructed him to add a tip and change the total. My husband did leave a 10% tip, as the ordeal embarrassed him so much he wanted to do whatever he had to in order to stop the waitress from making a scene at the front door. I told the young man at the front desk as my husband changed the receipt that I have never seen such unprofessional behavior in my life and we would not be back. After arriving home, I called to speak with the manager and one was not available. I left my number and complaint and requested a call back, which I have not yet gotten.
Having spent 10 years as a waitress myself, if I ever approached a guest about a tip in a negative fashion, I would have been fired immediately. Their policy communicates that tips are either built in or not a factor in the dining experience. No one should be so bold as to embarrass a customer at the front door after we were not presented with an opportunity to tip on our service since we were made to pay upfront and it is unreasonable to give above and beyond for service that has not taken place. We will never return to this establishment and I will research what agency I can speak to regarding their...
Read moreFood was okay and some is old and bad. You pay at the door. I was waiting for my family to arrive and said I'd pay for myself and my son. They demanded I pay for all six people to be seated. I said I cannot for all six and I'd pay for me and my son. After a wait I asked again if I could pay for me and my son and they said okay and I paid cash as their credit card machine went down at that exact moment. We were seated and we began to get our food while waiting as my son was really hungry. My mother and father arrived and they also paid cash as well which I watched then do as they came in because I was seated by the door. They sat with me and begin eating their lunch. The wait staff then comes over and asks two separate items if we paid. I said yes I paid cash and said so did my parents. After I left early with my son as he was done and tired I left my parents and two uncles to finish their meal. Well after I left they came back to the table twice to accuse all of us for not paying and even came up to my father at the buffet while he was getting food and said he didn't pay. He said yes we did it was 34.50 for me and my wife and we paid cash at the door when we came in. On the way out the door they accused the same thing AGAIN and to also my uncle's who also paid and everyone paid cash due to machine being down. For some reason they have no receipt. I didn't think this would be confusing as they won't seat you or take drinks at the door unless you pay and the cashier literally tells the waitress to seat you and she gets the drinks right there at the front and leads you to your table.
Me or my family will never go back there again. This was an awful experience and we paid as we walked in and even left a cash tip on the table and they still accused us of all not paying. Never walked out on a bill my whole life or was ever accused. Today it was at least twice to me and four times to my other family at different times of the meal. The floors are also really slippery and greasy and the food ranges from good to old and lack luster. Lost 6 PAYING customers today.
Edit: btw they never gave anyone a receipt because computer was down. Will never make that mistake again. I will ask for a hand written receipt if I must. But it won't be at this restaurant as I'm...
