Sadly, just another mediocre big chain restaurant where the staff seem to be there just to put in their time to get paid but don’t feel themselves invested in the place whatsoever and lack a show of genuine friendliness to the guests. I have never felt so UNwelcome in a restaurant. A robot would have exuded more warmth and genuine welcoming hospitality than the receptionist! An example: last time I forgot something at the local-family-owned breakfast-lunch-supper eatery BEYOND BREAD, located less than a block north of First Watch , I had left but was still sitting in my car checking my texts; and one of the Beyond Bread employees came running out holding a bag I had forgotten to take with me. She made the effort to find me, and that was a great example of the personal caring that should be shown every customer who spends money at an establishment. I experienced the exact opposite at First Watch. My car was parked right by the front door, and I spent even more time checking my texts before leaving than had been the case at Beyond Bread. Furthermore, there was hardly anyone left in the restaurant in the way of guests; so, the server who cleared the table would have had no one else in the way of clients to attend to. Yet, she did not bother to go to the front door to check if she could still see me in the parking lot. About 5 minutes later, as I was driving home , I realized that I had forgotten the bag. I turned right around and was back there at the restaurant only 10 minutes after their closing time, but clearly all the employees (except for two whom I saw) cleared out of there the instant it was 2:30 pm closing time. One employee came out the front door and saw me peering through the windows . Did he politely ask, “ “May I help you?!” No! He turned his head in the opposite direction with obvious intent to ignore me & sped away in his hot-shot pick up. I did see one employee inside, but she also didn’t want to be bothered or go out of the way. So, she acted as if she didn’t see me. The receptionist and/or server who cleared the table should have taken my bag (of paid-for takeout food that I ordered on top of what I was eating as dine-in) to the receptionist or to whoever was closing up the restaurant with the request to keep an eye out if the customer who forgot this bag should return to get it. That is the kind of personal, caring service you can expect to get at Beyond Bread but certainly NOT at First Watch! The food was good but not good enough to want to make me return to such an impersonal, “blah” place being run by employees who don’t even care enough to make the effort to hide their lack of interest in...
Read moreI received a gift card to this place from my job.
I went online to place the order. Found everything I needed and went to check out. To check out you are required to pass the Cloudflare authentication where it asks you if you are human and you have to check the box. I would check the box and after a few seconds it would just ask me to check it again. It did this continuously and I wasn't able to place the order.
So I decided to place the order on my phone at the same location. Suddenly all the options for potatoes were gone. Anything with potatoes as a side it asked me to choose something else and said this location doesn't have that item.
So finally I decided on an entire new order since potatoes were not available and went to make the purchase on the app. When i placed the order it said my gift card was declined. I checked the balance before and even when I placed the order it showed the correct balance. I kept trying and it kept saying it was declined.
So after 20 minutes of having nothing but issues, I ended up having to call to place my order. When you call, there is an option to place an order and when you press it, it tells you to go to the website to do it and hangs up.
So I had to call again and speak to someone at the store. I told him the issue and he had no problem taking the order over the phone, he even advised me that they did have potatoes so I was able to order my original meals.
The food okay. Now that I used my giftcard I will probably never order from any First...
Read moreWe finally found a restaurant that is a 10 out of 10. Great/delicious food (the chef is brilliant), great service (really friendly & genuinely care, not robotic), great atmosphere, great energy.
All the employees we encountered had a good/great attitude, including the manager.
We appreciate the friendliness and making us feel welcome. Each and every aspect is letter perfect in our opinion.
There is something for everyone here, food selection-wise, price-wise, etc. I also appreciate that you have fresh green juices available, and the little touches that mean a lot. For example, Ketchup is made from real tomatoes, fresh cooking with real food, servers who don't mind making sure you have everything you could possibly want. (I also appreciate that creamers, coffee, water, hot sauce, etc. are on the table for the customers' convenience.)
The place is clean and cute, the restrooms are clean, etc.
My compliments to the staff, the manager, the person doing the hiring, the company and the chefs/cooks. It took us a long time to find a restaurant that has what you have to offer.
We will be back as our budget allows, but kudos. You all got it right....
