Went for an early dinner on 04/07/23 First impression was the bathroom was dirty and smelled. It took a long time for our server Kassandra to come to our table only reason I know her name is because it's on the receipt. She never once said hello my name is blah blah and I will be taking care of you today or in this case completely ignore you today. We ordered a Red dragon and spicy tuna roll as appetizer. Stir fry noodles with chicken and vegetable fried rice with shrimp. They didn't have sweet tea so we only had water. Not sure if reason for POOR service was that we are both part of the " minority group" or because we just came straight from work and still had our steel toe boots on and had our work clothes on or the fact that we only had water to drink that maybe Kassandra thought we couldn't afford the place??? Not sure don't really care.... The restaurant was not busy because there was plenty of tables available and I noticed other people around us getting much better service than us from different servers of course. Food there was NOTHING special about it. Rice was gummy, red dragon felt a bit too much a room temperature for me and too fishy flavor by that I mean it tasted like they used a lower quality type of fish instead of the Salmon that it supposed to come on top of it. My husband enjoyed his noodles and chicken reason for the 2 star rating. My water was gone I had to grab a different server and ask if I could please have some more she had a pitcher that was almost empty and I said that was okay and she was kind enough to come back with more water.. I asked for Siracha I was told that they didn't have any but same lady suggested a different kind of hot sauce and it worked out in the end I tipped her a couple of dollars for her service. Check out time we got up and asked for our check hostess? Gave it to us , BUT wouldn't charge me until she verified with our server that we were charged for everything... The nerve!!! Maybe that is their policy but as a customer I felt like it was disrespectful even after I said that all we ordered was on the check. Thought price was reasonable for what we ordered so no complaints there. I didn't leave a tip and I don't even feel bad about it tips stand for
Too Insure Proper Service
In this case we got none if you ask any of the other places we visit on a regular basis like Taco Giro or Lavernas they will tell you that we are very generous when it comes to tipping. Didn't take pictures but I am posting picture of my receipt along with some cash to show money was not an issue and I carry plenty of plastic also.
For those tikTokers crying about not getting tipped maybe if they focused more on customer service vs making videos or chatting away with your coworkers you would see the difference 😜
Thankful we live in a place with plenty of restaurants to keep trying until we find something worth coming back......
Read moreA Deeply Disappointing Experience — Felt Completely Misled and Scammed
This used to be one of my favorite Korean BBQ spots in Tucson, which made this experience all the more frustrating. After a long day out, I decided to treat my husband and I and ordered two beef deckle with rice for takeout. I paid over $54 expecting two full portions — what I received instead was extremely disappointing and frankly felt like a scam.
When I picked up the food, it was packed in a single to-go container, held together with a rubber band because the box was so heavy. I took a look and made sure it was the right type of meat and I assumed both orders had been combined into one container with how heavy it was, so I took it home without issue. However, once I got home and unpacked the meal, I discovered that the bottom half of the container was filled with a large bag of ice, wrapped in foil, with only one order of meat sitting on top.
Not only was this misleading, but the portion of meat I received was mostly fat and barely edible. We even had to separate the bad fat bits so we could have a decent bite of food. Ive ordered take out from this restaurant before and there is absolutely no way this amounted to two full orders — in fact, I doubt it even amounted to one. For over $54, I received a single poor-quality portion and a hidden bag of ice to give the illusion of more food.
This experience was incredibly disappointing and unacceptable. I’ve enjoyed dining in at this restaurant before, but this level of deception with takeout is inexcusable. Dine-in is ok but if you plan on ordering to-go, I strongly urge you to triple-check your order before leaving and make sure to check the bottom of your food for anything to pack the box. Based on this experience, I don’t know if I’ll return, I truly feel scammed after finding a large bag of ice under my food instead of the second order of meat I paid for. Ive ordered from this restaurant before and it was one of my favorites and they’ve never given me a bag of ice before so I had expectations for what 2 orders would look and feel like but after being scammed and getting ice instead of food it makes me...
Read moreFirst time here. I got here about 5 pm and it wasn't very busy at the time. I was seated right away and my waitress came by shortly to take my drink order. She asked if I was okay with chopsticks, or if I'd rather have a fork. I told her my chopsticks skills were average at best, but that is take a fork as a backup. I also asked for some soy sauce. I got the soy sauce, but never got a fork. I didn't bring it up again because I was fine without it, but she didn't know that. I ordered some fried dumplings (happy hour price), and I ordered the tonkatsu don rice bowl. That came with soup (miso) and salad. The soup was good, maybe a little under seasoned for my preference, but good. The salad was basic, just lettuce and some red cabbage. I wasn't crazy about the ginger dressing. It wasn't bad, but just okay. The dumplings were really good, and cooked perfectly. The dipping sauce was tasty as well. My only pet peeve here was the tiny amount of sauce. Personally, I like to give my dumplings a good dunk. The dipping sauce came in a miniature saucer and couldn't have had more than a tablespoon of sauce in it. Lastly, the main course. The tonkatsu don bowl was good, but again, not great. Now, in all fairness, I'd never had this dish and this is more an issue of my personal taste than it is anything they did. This isn't a soup, but I think there's a small amount of broth in there for flavoring. There was an ingredient in it, maybe fish sauce, that I didn't care for. The one other thing was that they top the bowl with some pickled ginger, which I'm not a fan of. I took it out but it did leave a residual taste behind. Again, just my picky-ness here more than anything. I will say that the tonkatsu was really good. All in all, I'll definitely go back and try a couple other things. I think I just happened to try something new that I wasn't crazy about. If that goes better I may...
