My friends and I went there tonight for dinner. Everything was flowing normal, service was okay. Our waitress did explain she was new. So when our entrees came out, our waitress mentioned she had forgotten to place my order. She asked again for my order and placed it in late. My friends were all done by the time my entree came out and I got full from the appetizer we had order. The chef came out with my entree and apologized for it being late. I asked for the chicken and realized the waitress had forgotten to order the chicken to my entree order. At that point I didn’t want the chicken anymore. I didn’t want to wait now for the chicken. The chef then insisted, In my mind I didn’t want to pay for something that was coming out late and also I didn’t want it anymore. I told him three times that I did not want the chicken anymore. He instead and left. He then comes out several minutes later with the chicken after I had already requested a To go plate.
The waitress arrives with the togo plates and tells us that “dessert is on the house” to make up for the issue.
We order two slices of cake, they arrive in cold Togo plates. Honestly, they didn’t look appetizing at all.
We ask for our ticket but our waitress takes too long so we decided to go and pay at the pick up/ hostess area.
Anyways, it is gets really bad when I see my ticket. I notice the charge for the chicken and I ask them to remove that.
Then the “chef” comes out and says “I gave you free dessert and you also want me to void the chicken?” At this point I look at him crazy so he repeats the statement and includes “I’m the owner”
I then look at him more crazy and ask him to repeat himself because honestly I was just truly amazed he could be the owner and yet provide such horrible service. I told him he can keep the untouched chicken if need be and remind him that I told him three times I did not want that chicken. He then quickly voided the chicken.
So yes, bottom line. Good food, HORRIBLE SERVICE. Save yourselves of having this place ruin your...
Read moreRoma in Tyler is an Italian gem that exceeded our expectations. We ordered a small pepperoni pizza, which was generously sized, comparable to a medium at Pizza Hut. My daughters adored it, and I can only imagine how massive their large pizza must be.
Our server, Becky, was incredibly sweet and attentive. She took great care of us, packing our leftovers and ensuring we had everything we needed. Despite the restaurant not being very busy, which might deter some potential customers, I believe it's a hidden treasure worth exploring. The lack of crowds seems more related to its location than the quality of the food or service.
I ordered the chicken Alfredo, while my friend opted for the shrimp Alfredo. Both dishes were perfectly seasoned, tasted fantastic, and offered excellent portions for the price. A minor note is that the shrimp still had their tails on, which could be a slight inconvenience for some.
The atmosphere at Roma is dark and lovely, which I particularly enjoy. The open floor plan and spacious layout create a comfortable dining environment. The lighting is well-balanced, and the bar area is clean, nicely decorated, and well-lit, even though we didn't sit there. Our booth had a window separating it from the bar, adding a touch of privacy.
The booths near the windows are elevated, accessed by two small stairs, creating a charming seating area. I love unique touches like this. There’s also additional seating for larger parties, adorned with a pretty chandelier that adds a touch of elegance.
Overall, we had a fantastic experience at Roma. If I'm ever back in Tyler craving Italian food, Roma will be my go-to spot, far surpassing Olive Garden...

Upon getting my review, the owner was very thankful for my feedback and was willing to compensate me for my meal. Everyone has off days. And I will be back to Roma’s because Zee made this right. Thank you, Zee.
To start with I asked for an old-fashioned. My server Madison informed me that they did not have a bartender on Tuesday nights, so I could only have wine or beer. That is the only reason I chose Roma’s is because they do have the best old fashioned in town. I ordered a glass of wine and explain to madison that I was going to be in a meeting for the next hour and asked that she kept my wine glass full.
After 15 minutes of my glass being empty, I finally had to wave down another server to ask for a refill.
After my meeting, I ordered a meal for myself and one to go for my husband. The minestrone soup I ordered for myself was not even full to the ring of the bowl. It was probably less than a cup of soup and it was $10. Ridiculous.
I have noticed in recent visits that there is so much pepper in the food. It is not pleasant to eat. And I regularly eat spicy food. It is so peppery that I don’t know that I will return. No matter what those in my party ordered it was peppery.
This visit was a huge let down and I would have tipped much better, but it was so below any...
