Sato Sushi — Restaurant in Upland

We just finished eating at Sho Sushi and wish we hadn't. The service was awful! We waited an extremely long time to order our food and just as long to have it served to us. My husband ordered the all-you-can-eat and I ordered the shrimp and vegetable tempura meal. Even though I ordered my own meal, I began to notice the servers watching us. I don't eat meat, so I gave my husband the shrimp tempura, in return I ate about five pieces of the edamame he ordered with the ayce. Ok, yes I understand the ayce rules but I figured we swapped and it wouldn't be a big deal. But maybe it was to the unfriendly female server. She marched over with part of my husband's order, shoved it in his direction and said," No sharing with those who do not order the ayce." I said that's fine because I knew I wouldn't eat the sushi, as I don't eat meat. After that we just kept getting the death stare from her. Twice one server and her came over and tried to tell me husband that he was done eating. What is ayce, if can't eat all you want? We felt really uncomfortable and left before he got the rest of his first round of food. The female server didn't ask me how the food was or say anything to me as I was leaving. Sato Sushi left much to be inspired. For the quality of the food, my family and I agreed that we were grossly overcharged. For lunch, we payed over one hundred dollars for two children and three adults (with tip). Ouch! For that kind of money, we should have gone to Teppan Grill. At least we would have felt like it was worth the price. At Sato Sushi, we were served really crummy crunch rolls in our bento boxes. How can you ruin such a standard sushi roll? Well, to start the shrimp in the crunch roll tasted previously refrigerated and the cuts on the sushi were sloppy and uneven. We also had to ask the waitress for Wasabi. The gyoza in the kids bento boxes tasted reheated, not freshly made. More importantly our sushi rolls off the a la carte menu lacked flavor. We will definitely not be going back. Worst service I have ever had. We were repeat customers for years due to the sushi be decent and so close to home. The waitress as well as all the staff are very rude. We ordered sushi without mayo for example. After they bring it out I felt so bad to inform them again that mayo gets me sick to my stomach. The people behind the counter called me a Gajin and curses me in Japanese. Not only did I leave but others did as well. A customer behind me told be what that meant and it was truly heart breaking to hear that due to me going there religiously. BUT hey it is what it is right.
