Wow! If I could give 0 stars, I would. All we wanted to do was take my Mother to dinner for her 86th birthday. The overall rating for this place looked good, menu looked good online. I should have read further. The hours list the restaurant opened at 4. We called for a reservation and they told us 5:30 because of the size of our party (8). Seemed like a good sign right? My husband and sons got there first and the woman (I refuse to say lady) rescued to seat them because our reservation was not until 5:30, yet there was not a single soul in there. She finally sat them, placed a pitcher of water on the table, and walked away. We arrived shortly after with my Mom, and we also greeted rudely. Let me give you a quick bullet list of what happened next. I provided pictures so you can get the full effect. Please note that she sat us in a corner by a door. You can see our view! I had to get up after 15 minutes to ask if someone would be coming to get our drink order. The woman, who was working on a puzzle or something, said “Your reservation isn’t until 5:30.” It was 5:29. When I said that the restaurant was empty except for us, she told me it was none of my business!
My Mom asked for iced tea and was told they only had Coke, Sprite and Diet Pepsi. Fine, Sprite. She brought out a can and a glass of ice.
Note: we would have left right then but my Mom is older and it is not easy to get her in and out of the car.
The salads and garlic knots need no explaining if you look at the pictures.
I have had better pasta at chain restaurants for a much lower price. Average entree cost is $24. The aftermath is yet to be determined because I have to admit that I wouldn’t put anything past this woman.
My Mom ordered a cannoli ($7.50) and asked for a cup of decaf coffee. No coffee, just espresso?
When we got the bill we were floored. Remember the can of Sprite? $4.50!
This place needs to close their doors or someone should shut them down. Sorry Mom, we will make...
Read moreNever again. I am a long time patron of this restaurant. I always liked it there. But, tonight, two of us ordered entrées... By the time our entrées arrived, we already ate the few garlic bread, or rolls, or knots, or whatever they want to call their precious valuable things. We asked for more rolls or bread for our meals. We nicely made it clear we were OK with simple bread. Didn't have to be the valuable rolls or knots. We were told it was in the oven. OK, great.. The two of us held off eating our meals, thinking the bread was on it's way. We are both Italian. We eat bread with our pasta. Sorry about that. We waited. 15 minutes later, we asked about the bread. The waitress said she was trying to get us more bread, but "they are very strict" about giving more bread. Really? Wait.. Can't have more bread in an Italian restaurant? We were willing to pay the $2 or $3 for a few more little rolls... that probably cost 25 cents to make.. whatever you think is worth. But, no. Not gonna happen. They are too strict.. OK. No problem. We won't be coming back. We have very strict convictions, too. If you have been to this restaurant, you may have had good experiences there. Us too.. But, when you have that one unacceptable experience, it is just a total turn off. After an experience like that, why would you go back, when there are so many other restaurants in the area? I just don't get it. And I don't need it explained to me. I am happy to go elsewhere, and I'll certainly make sure to tell my friends to...
Read moreThis was my first time at this restaurant and I was dining with family. There were difficulties with serving staff so service was sporadic. The garlic rolls swimming in olive oil with more chopped garlic were delicious. Two appetizers were ordered. Fried calamari and shrimp cocktail. The calamari was nearly gone before the shrimp cocktail arrived. Both were good but both were missing lemon wedges and each needed it. Three entrées were ordered. The Chicken piccata was served in a brown sauce and had absolutely no flavor of lemon of any kind. A gnocchi dish with Italian sausage and broccoli rabe which the diner said was quite good with the exception of the stems of the broccoli rabe which were inedible and on the plate. The third dish was a veal dish that was supposed to have spinach, shrimp, mushrooms and provolone. The diner asked for the addition of prosciutto on the veal and marinara on the pasta. The entire dish was swimming in the marinara sauce with all of the rest of the toppings however the shrimp came in three different sizes, including the teeny tiny frozen kind you see in salads which was very unappetizing. The mushrooms were not heavily sautéed and almost raw, the spinach tasted like it was frozen and there was no evidence of prosciutto on the dish. This particular diner, who never complains, told the waitress she really didn’t care for the dish at all. The restaurant offered no compensation. Overall the meal was very disappointing. First time in this restaurant. We...
