Vancouver Taqueria — Restaurant in Vancouver

The Quesabirria was visually beautiful, but bland and the chips were uninspired. The salsa was fresh. I came here for the Bosnian food but the server didn’t seem to have a clue what I was talking about. It’s listed on their Google account. He just pointed to the pictures on the wall and said that’s what they have. That was a bummer.

In fact, while I’m on the subject, let me mention the trying to get a smile out of the server was like trying to squeeze a fart outa a frozen tuna in the middle of winter at the North Pole. I had to check my arm pits to make sure I didn’t bring the stink in and do a quick check behind me to see if I’d dragged in a dead cat.

The food looked great, but it just didn’t light up any fires of love in me. Lots of meat, lots of cheese, tons of grease, but not a lot of depth. No sense of savory or herb. It is rare that I sit down to a meal and don’t finish.

The reason I came was because the menu had a strange mix of Bosnian and Mexican, but it looks like they’ve dropped that portion of the menu, or if they haven’t, they don’t bother to post it and the server doesn’t speak enough English to ask him about it. It’s why I came and I was disappointed. If the Mexican food was stellar or the service was fun, I would have shifted, but they weren’t. On the good side, it was delivered quickly and was pretty. The food from here is made very Fresh and always Excellent! We had family from out of town and decided to grab something for Everyone! The gentleman taking our order was fairly busy with several other orders, but was working with ours for a much longer time than usual. When we pulled into home, we were told that the 3 dishes that were Specified as Needing to have NO CHEESE for Allergies, and the person taking the order went over that Exact thing 3 different times, to be certain...we had to turn around and return to have it Fixed or remade! We have 3 family members with Severe allergies and they could Not even touch them! My son-in-law brought them back in to get fixed/replaced and he told me the gentleman was pretty Angry with having to redo the 3 orders Correctly and basically Threw the food into each container! When we arrived back home, one family member said "Look at my dish!" You could tell Everything was literally Thrown Inside the container and sent my son-in-law on his Merry way! This place seems to serve a variety of grilled meats that are common all over the region. As much as I would like to have sampled this little holes offerings, I can't in good conscience recommend anything on the menu...as I have been REFUSED service all three times I've attempted to eat here over the last several years.

Yep! One time I was told the cook was busy with other matters and nobody else could serve me. The next, I was told it was too hot to cook and was not invited back. The third time, I was more honestly informed that the cook was too drunk to do his job.

In all three of these circumstances I showed up at either the lunch hour or late dinner hour (7:30 pm). Each time I entered, i walked past what seemed to be the entire staff tossing back beer and, I think vodka, on the front patio in full view of the street.

Sorry, but no amount of culinary expertise could wash away this kind...
