Poki Maki by Mr.7 — Restaurant in Walnut

Spotted this place while getting gas. Stopped by and was quite surprised at how spacious it is, but also, it's 100% self-service.

You order at a kiosk (so card only), and a robot server will come by with your food. You're also expected to get your own utensils. So there is 100% no interaction with the staff. This point is absolutely great if you have social anxiety or just don't want to talk to people.

One thing though, is that you can't 100% customize what you want or not want on it, as you order a set bowl and order extra items if need be. I'm personally used to ordering a completely custom poké bowl, but this was fine I guess.

The food came out at a reasonable amount of time, and I was surprised by the amount of food there was in the bowl. Mind you, I'm a petite Asian girl who doesn't eat much so this is a lot for me personally.

As for the food itself, it tasted pretty good. Fresh enough and delicious enough for a craving. I ordered the salmon tuna and spicy tuna poké bowl and a Hokkaido milk tea. The milk tea itself tastes pretty good as well.

This place was super cool !! The atmosphere was super friendly. The staff greeted us with warm smiles and a welcoming demeanor. In my opinion the food was really really good !! The spicy mayo with the sushi was to die for !! My grandmother is a harsh critic lol so she said the noodles needed a little more broth 🤷 but I wouldn't take it personally cus she still critiques my cooking skills pretty hard and I'd like to consider myself a decent chef lol. The staff is bilingual which is pretty awesome , always happy to see representation and an array of cultures. And they have a robot that brings ur food out for you which is super cool and thats a very modern touch !! My little cousin loved it !! Kid friendly place. Good spot to study and chill. And social anxiety friendly, not too many people. Come support this place , will definitely return !! Thanks again !!! Worst poki food ever. The only thing this place has going is location. If it wasn't located right by the community college I would never have come here. I originally had poke for the first time at poke Dot Irvine and that place is fire. This place is shameful. First off the customer service is no good here. They don't care about you or what your ordering. You have to order from a computer and the employees don't want to walk around to help you they either try to horribly walk you through using the computer or they tell you oh no start over. I almost walked out but really wanted to try the food. I should have walked out. The picture on here are so far from what you really buy the bowls are tiny. The large bowl is more like a small and the small is almost nothing. $15 with tax for 3 meats small portion. They don't even mix the sause for you. They have avacodo pre packed. They don't even make guacamole here they just buy the fake wholy guacamole. So sad. This place is a rip off. Drive 15 min or less to a better place. The bowl is the size...
