I love helping new businesses and I gave it a try. I saw it posted so I shared it with friends to help promote. What a disaster! I understand it just opened so I was prepared for delays, mistakes etc but this far surpassed any problems I could imagine. We ordered a basic breakfast and coffee. It took almost 2 hours to get HALF of our order, it was cold and the order was incorrect. Eggs were ordered sunny side up and it came burnt. I couldn’t identify the yolk. The bus girl kept apologizing to every table attempting to reassure them their meal would be done soon. Customers were all upset. I felt bad for staff. We actually heard yelling from the kitchen! I believe the “chef “ who supposedly is also the owner was screaming at a staff. The poor girl looked like she wanted to cry! Then a young man behind the bar was pushing his weight around with staff as well! The atmosphere is dingy, to say the least, the staff are treated horribly. It appears to be a very toxic place. Not only will I not revisit the restaurant again based on service, food and environment but I refuse to spend money at a place that is so disrespectful to their staff. Not to mention the young man with red hair behind the bar was very condescending to patrons. I try to give them benefit of the doubt, maybe it’s their first restaurant? Please don’t support a business that...
Read moreWe walked into this place right after it opened, curious to check it out since it took over a spot that had been around for a while. We love trying new places and supporting small businesses, so we decided to give it a shot.
It was a Tuesday, and the owner, his son, and a friendly female server were all there. The menu was understandably limited, but they had a Taco Tuesday special, so I went for that while my husband ordered the penne pasta with marinara sauce. I also tried the Paloma Margarita, though I was a little let down that it came in a regular glass.
The food wasn't bad, and we're hopeful for the new owner, who just came back to the state after being away for a long time. That said, the son was a bit overzealous--it felt like he was trying a little too hard to win people over. Hopefully, it's just nerves and excitement from being new!
This spot is just a few blocks from Oakland Beach, so it's shaping up to be a nice neighborhood hangout for any day of the week. Looking forward to trying their breakfast! We could definitely use more places like this in the...
Read moreI Went this past Friday for first time..Ordered White Clam Chowder, clam cakes and Fish and chips. The Fish and Chips were decent, batter is not your typical beer batter and i like how they do not over batter..it.was unique in a good way ,could have been more cripsy(but also understand how fried food to go can be sometimes). Chowder had a twang of something different, but not in a bad way..my complaint about the chowder would be that the bowl I received was mostly all broth and it was thin for a white chowder..I personally prefer a thicker chowder... there were literally only like 6 chunks of potatoes, and I counted like 4 pieces of clams....the flavor was good but it was not hearty.I really wasn't sure if it's just how they make their chowder or if it truly was just the end of the pot (evening order) .I only had a few bites because i was left with just a milky liquid..clam clake flavor was good but they were a little dry .. I would stick to Iggys for the chowder/clam cakes, but would definitely get the fish and...
