Mikey's Late Night Slice — Restaurant in Washington Township

Sometimes I hear Mikey's getting a bad rap, perhaps because they don't serve the tavern cut, thin crispy crust Ohio Valley style pizza most of the local pizza shops do. I was pleasantly surprised by the Spicy-A** pepperoni. It had a good flavor and frankly, I enjoyed it.

I was somewhat disappointed even slices to go are served on a paper plate, over which the slice slides very easily. You either eat it immediately, or risk it winding up cold and/or on the sidewalk or floor of your car. Having to eat immediately while on the go, I was disappointed it made it impractical to try their famed Unicorn Sauce.

The bread sticks were a miss. It's nothing more than a slice of somewhat bland cheese pizza, cut part the way through to allow tearing off into vertical strips. In other words, a slice of cheese pizza convertible into another form factor.

Overall, I'd say if you want a decent slice for immediate consumption, Mikey's merits consideration. If you want something more transportable, order a whole pie. And just skip the...

We've been to this location multiple times and are always greeted by friendly staff and the cool, music-heavy vibe that is a hallmark of Mikey's Late Night Slice. After having tried the hot chicken pizza when it was out a month ago, we were eagerly anticipating the Mikey's hot mac pizza. Tonight was the first night it was out, so we headed to this location to anxiously try it. Lillie, who was handling the whole operation made one of the best and also most aesthetically pleasing pizzas I've ever seen. It was definitely photo-worthy, but I was too eager to try it to remember to snap a photo. Ordered a whole pizza and sides online through the website for delivery. When the delivery window had passed with no food, I called the shop. Was told my order was not in their system and to email. Have sent two emails since then with no response.

Update: I received a reply pretty quickly to the second email and the restaurant was able to help me cancel the outstanding order with DoorDash. I look forward to visiting in person to get more of that legendary mikey’s pizza!

Website orders are not processed in-house but through DoorDash. Some kind of hand-off issue going on with their backend. The only part of the process that worked was with charging my credit card!
