I came with my friends for restaurant week and was able to taste various dishes. Appetizers: Burrata with prosciutto -delicious! Octopus- tender and hearty with chickpeas Crab arancini- great crab filling, but expect 5 smaller bite size balls compared to the typical large arancini balls Main dishes Tagliatelle duck confit- I wanted to be adventurous trying out new food, but it did not suit my preference. I’m maybe not a duck person. Gnocchi with wild boar ragu- delicious and well portioned Dessert Budino- very rich and creamy chocolate dessert Sticky toffee pudding- highly recommended Crème brûlée- I love the lemon citrus and creaminess Staff- very attentive, provided great service, and our waiter catered to our requests and questions Overall, restaurant provided a relaxed and enjoyable food experience.

Alta Strada in DC is a gem for anyone craving elevated Italian cooking in an accessible, comfortable setting. It doesn’t stray into overly experimental territory — rather, it refines and elevates what Italian cuisine is loved for (good pasta, fresh ingredients, warm hospitality). . . And, a good espresso martini If you’re planning a dinner in DC and want somewhere that feels special without being pretentious, Alta Strada is a strong bet. For your next outing there, I’d recommend: 1. Starting with a shareable appetizer (burrata or octopus) 2. Pairing with a house red or asking for wine suggestions 3. Choosing a pasta special or classic main Leaving dessert room (you’ll be glad you did) Triamisu?! 📌 Check out their HH menu - $12 margaritas pizzas aren't bad at all!!

The manager, Ben, saved the day! I visited during restaurant week for lunch. The food was delicious and tasted incredibly fresh – you can tell they really take pride in their ingredients. The only downside was the slow service (which honestly seemed to be a recurring theme for the restaurants I visited during restaurant week). I think there was a mishap with the staff during the time we arrived. That said, the manager, Ben, went above and beyond to ensure that my friend and I were well taken care of despite the mishaps. His efforts definitely made the experience a better one and we appreciated the attention he gave us. I wish more restaurant managers took a page from Ben’s book. I’d definitely revisit for the amazing food.
