I had the crispy tofu sandwich with a side of "pickled" slaw. The tofu was excellent, but the bread/bun was awful. I expected whole grain or sprouted bread, not white flour or over-processed wheat. The slaw did not have any pickling brine or seasoning. Extremely disappointing first time experience.
Person behind the counter was beyond rude. I asked about the seasonal flavor for the crispy tofu and they looked at me with contempt, shook their head saying something to the effect that there's "no such thing." I pointed to the menu on the wall, this angered them even more. They screamed at me the 2 options for crispy tofu.
I have posted a photo of their very own menu, hanging on the wall of the Georgetown location which clearly states there are 3, not 2, options for the crispy tofu.
When I saw that the slaw looked unseasoned without any pickling juice, I asked if the slaw is pickled. The same rude person replied, "Yes." Since it didn't look it, I requested garlic aioli on the slaw.
When I went to pay, the cashier was very nice. I asked if there was garlic aioli on the slaw. The cashier said there was not. She kindly put some on.
The place had only been open 45 minutes and the restroom was digusting. Tables were dirty as well.
I should have listened to my intuition after being mistreated by the employee behind the counter (tall wearing a basebal cap backwards). They were rude and unprofessional multiple times. I should have walked out. Unfortunately, I did not but maybe I've saved potential victims from having a similar horrible experience.
Plenty of other restaurants and cafes in the area to chose from where they treat their customers with kindness and respect.
I am visiting a loved one at Gtown University Hospital. I've been at the hospital since 7 am. This looked like a healthy option and was a nice 20 minute walk on a gorgeous day. But what's the point of "healthy" when the food is not prepared as described? Or you're getting "healthy" food from a miserable,...
Read moreGreat fast-casual spot for a quick lunch or dinner! I loved Dig (Inn) back in Philly, Boston, and New York, so I was super excited when they opened up a Georgetown location, perfect for a mid-day study / shopping / strolling break. They have great chef-curated plates, but I've always been a sucker for a good build-your-own situation -- you can select a base, one protein (or more if you're feeling extra), two sides, and a sauce or two. I usually start with their farm greens with mint or a half-and-half situation. As for mains, the wild Alaskan salmon is my go-to, but their maple glazed tofu has the perfect level of sweetness and a slightly crunchy exterior that hits every time. I have such a hard time choosing from all their delicious sides, but you can never go wrong with their sheet tray carrots, charred broccoli (emphasis on the char, but it's broken up with a great hit of lemon), or roasted sweet potato. For a bit of fall flair, their kale apple crunch and golden brussels are great seasonal hits. Then, I usually top it all off with their house-made sriracha or a lemon wedge.
While I usually get my food delivered, the couple of times I have visited in person have thoroughly impressed me with how welcoming and friendly their service is! Everyone is extremely kind, and super engaging to chat with. I feel like the cashier and I exchanged life stories during our two-minute interaction, and they gave great recommendations on which of their many proteins / sides to pick! Everyone is also super patient with dietary restrictions and will walk you through all the allergens /...
Read moreUpdate: Dig Inn customer service reached out and handled the situation professionally and with empathy. I visited the restaurant today and the service was absolutely amazing. They fixed it, the server was friendly and I’m glad I’m able to enjoy Dig’s healthy food again! I changed my review to 5 stars based on the last interaction and how the situation was handled. I wish other companies would do the same. Old post: I’ve been a loyal customer at Dig In Georgetown for a long time. I used to love the food, the service, and I always left a generous tip (often 35%+) because I appreciated the hard work of the staff. Unfortunately, in recent months, both the food and service quality have gone down dramatically. My last visit was the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had. Order #69 on 9/10/25 at 5:26 PM. The new white female server yelled at me while taking my order, rushed me, and didn’t even give me what I asked for. She tossed the food into the bowl carelessly, then placed it aside uncovered as if it were garbage, and simply asked me to pay. She was already agitated when I got there and maybe she was having a bad day but the behavior was completely unacceptable, I truly don’t know what caused her to act so aggressively with customers. I asked to speak with the manager, hoping the situation would be handled seriously, but all I received was a quick “sorry” with no effort to...
