The only positive experience - our server was really nice, informative, and pleasant. In fact all those who were serving food and taking care of guests that night were very helpful and attentive. Hostess on the other hand was a total disgrace; see my reasoning below. My wife and I went to celebrate the Valentines Day. I asked the hostess if we could grab one of the booths, but she flat out refused saying they are not available. Seemed a little rude considering three of them were empty, and staring back at me. Not only that, throughout the night, seemingly random people occupied those and other booths in the dining room. Plus there was no option to reserve a booth, so in my opinion if they are empty, they are available. Anyway, it was the way she turned down my request that didn't sit well with me. Meal options were from a prefix menu that consisted of below average beat salad, luke warm butternut squash soup, a plate of mini appetizers to share, bland duck with figs and sauce I couldn't make sense of. Saving grace at the end was chocolate decadence buffet that had some good offerings - hence 3 stars; would've been one otherwise. Ended up shelling $260 for this! Completely ruined what was supposed to be a romantic experience. Ambiance too was below average. I will never visit this...
Read moreWe have liked Westend Bistro every time we've eaten here. Today (May 14, 2017) we went for the special Mothers Day Brunch. We were not disappointed in the least. When we first entered the restaurant, the front desk people were welcoming, friendly, and even humorous. They made us feel as if we were special guests. Our waiter (#38189 Soufiane) was very attentive, and interested in our enjoying our experience. He made sure we knew where to begin in a rather extensive lineup of food offerings. He visited our table a few times to make sure we were happy with everything. We sincerely hope he will be given an outstanding evaluation! The food was superb! There were seafood, beef, and egg entrees, a salad bar to dazzle the eyes, delicious vegetable combinations, sausage and applewood bacon sides, and one of the most delightful dessert displays we have ever seen. Mimosas and other alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks were offered. Upon leaving the restaurant, we were thanked by many of the staff. We doubt it will be too long before we return. And it may become an annual Mothers Day event for us! Many thanks to everyone at Westend Bistro for making our day a truly...
Read moreId give 0 statrs, but its not an option. I dont mind spending money, but it has to be worth the price. I do not have much tolerance for ripoff or pretense. This place is full of both... and yes - full of that too.
The greeter was the only positive thing about this "joint" - he handed me a Sunday N.Y. Times. It was downhill from there.
The $34 omelette was soggy - how can you ruin an omelette? I could not drink what they called "coffee" - closest I can come to describing it is lukewarm dishwasher. When i told the waiter I couldn't drink it, he brought me 'espresso" - and then charged ne $7 for it! And even the "espresso" was lousy.
I ordered bacon but they forgot it.
On the way out, I told the hostess why I would not be back and she said "I wish you had told us sooner." Really? There are 5 Starbucks within walking distance. I should not have to tell Ritz Carlton what decent coffee tastes like. And if a cook cannot make a proper $34 omelette, it's time to get a new job. Especially when they are charging prices like this.
In short, McDonald's beats you hands down at $3. Don't waste your money at this...
