Read moreHave had good experiences here until today. I ordered online for pickup. There is an area that is clearly marked “pick up orders here”. I waited until 10 minutes after it was supposed to be ready and after I saw people who ordered in person after I arrived receive their food. I work in the area and was on a tight schedule. I checked in at the counter and was told that they hold hot orders at the counter, not at the pick up area (would be nice to have a sign to that effect). After the staff person rudely explained this to me, the cook realized that the order that had been sitting there for me was not at all what I had ordered. When I confirmed that, the staff person (again rudely) said “don’t worry, we will make you the right thing” and “ it WAS ready sitting up here.” When I finally got my food, it was half wrapped, falling out of a piece of foil that was too small. The icing on the cake was that it didn’t contain all the...
Food was ok, but we had terrible service. It was our first time there and I looked around but didn’t see anywhere to put our plates (it’s tucked behind a fridge up front). They bring your food out so I thought maybe they took the plates back too?
So as we went to leave an employee came running after us and made a big deal about how we didn’t bus our table. It was an honest mistake on our part and was pretty embarrassing to be scolded for it like that. Also, it would have been just as easy for her to clear it and drop the plates on her way back to the kitchen instead of running after us and making us do it. Also, there was a guy playing guitar and while he was a good player, it was amped and WAY too loud for a tiny space during breakfast. A lady at the table next to me said she asked for it to be turned down, but nothing happened.
I won’t be back. Try Maxi’s or the bagel...
Read moreWe visited this café in Waterbury on a rainy morning, hoping for a warm breakfast and a comforting cup of coffee to start the day. Unfortunately, our experience didn’t quite meet expectations. The staff member at the front wasn’t very welcoming, which set a less-than-ideal tone from the start. It felt a bit surprising not to receive a smile or any warmth, especially when you’re looking for a cozy café experience.
The breakfast options were fairly limited, and while the pastries looked appealing, they didn’t appear as fresh as we’d hoped. It also took about 20 minutes for us to get a simple drip coffee, which seemed a bit long for a quiet morning.
I think with some attention to service training, this café has the potential to offer a more welcoming environment. Hopefully, the feedback helps the owner make some improvements because this spot could be great with a...
