Mariscos Estrella Del Mar — Restaurant in Weslaco

Giving 1 star due to poor management. I ordered the grilled shrimp which I love, and order when at a seafood restaurant. This shrimp was small and had very little to no flavor. The waitress never returned to our table to see if we had concerns with our plates. As a prior server, it is part of your job to check on your table. The customers shouldn't have to call on you. The restaurant had only two tables with customers including my husband and I, so it was not busy. We finally told the waitress that I was unsatisfied with my plate and she told the hostess. They literally didn't even apologize and still charged us for the plate. The hostess which I assume was the manager because it was only the two of them in the restaurant. She said we should've said something after we got the plate, like previously stated how was I supposed to complain about the lack of flavor, if the server never came back to...

Horrible, to say the least. When this restaurant started business it was amazing but I have noticed that it started declining in quality since. In my most recent visit everything was awful from the food to the service. The chips were stale, as were the shrimp tostadas, the margarita was some sort of powder mix with a horrible taste, on the tampiquena the fajita was tougher than rubber, the "rollo de mariscos" completely changed from the way it used to be (this wasn't too bad but it sure did not compare to their original one), and to top it off, the waitress had no personality either. I don't recommend it at all. I sure hope they polish up their operations soon. I ended up paying about $140ish for a party of 6 (tip included...

The service is great if you only speak Spanish. I do not speak Spanish nor do I read it. So I could not read the menu nor speak to the waitress. Luckily my boyfriend does. Moving on to the food. Wow....we have been to alot of mom and papa places but this one..... yikes. The chips were old, the salsa was not fresh, and the beans were cold. Than came our plates; they were swimming in what looked to be broth. But I didn't know chile relleno was served floating in broth. The shrimp was like rubber and the vegetables were extremely over cooked. So I'm not even going to go over the rest of my plate or my boyfriend's plate. Not a good...
