I've walked by this place for quite sometime and never stopped...I kept saying "someday". Someday finally came and I've been missing out. I was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere, the interior decorations and the smell of great food coming from the kitchen. Margaritas are good it's really hard to mess this up so not expecting too much but they were good. I tried a dish that I rarely see anywhere else in Chicago. Aguachile. The literal translation is chile water. They have two types here one that's green made with jalapenos and the second one is red made with chile de arbol. For newbies red is a little spicier. This aguachile is made with shrimp, red onion , cucumber all marinated in lime juice and jalapeno green salsa. Usually I'm a little apprehensive about eating ra w seafood marinated in lime juice. YOLO. I'm happy I took the chance because it was delicious it was the perfect afternoon snack with a salty margarita on a Sunday sunny afternoon. They had a small menu but very interesting with a few items that I will be back to try. For something hidden away right off of Des plaines on Kinzie as part of a high-rise apartment building not too bad there was plenty of seats available, the bar had some nice choices for tequila and agave plus plenty of different types of tequila made cocktails to choose from.

This was a pick up order. Overall the food was okay. The burrito wasn’t anything special. The quesadilla was yummy, but nothing notable. The corn was tasty but a bit blander than expected. The enchilada sauce was good, I would’ve enjoyed it had I received the CORRECT order. In general, I would have given this place a 3/5. But they gave me the wrong order. It clearly says on the receipt attached to the bag that I was supposed to receive CHEESE enchiladas (as my choice of meat). Instead I received just chicken in my enchiladas. It was the tortilla, sauce, and chicken. No cheese on the inside. All I wanted was cheese ONLY in my enchiladas! Therefore, this experience has been a 1/5. If I received the cheese only enchiladas, they probably would’ve been delicious.

Restaurant DOUBLE CHARGED My card when me & my man only had 4 items that should’ve only come out to about $80 the waitress said if I used my card it was be 3% gratuity but I said okay anyway and it came out to $108 which was not OKAY and JUST NOW I check my card and I been charged another $30 for mediocre service food and drinks, DO NOT GO HERE UPDATE: The Waitress/ Server Charged Us For 3x The Price My Boyfriend & I Had to Go Back Up To The Place and Tell Them We Weren’t Leaving To Get Our Money Back, They Finally Go Upstairs and Get The Money We Were Overcharged, Mind You We Didn’t Get An Official Receipt Until I Called Back Up There about The Extra 30 We Were Charged, Don’t Spend Your Money Here They are SCAMMERS

The restaurant is really cute and very welcoming. The food was fantastic. The host was phenomenal and asked if we had a preference for where we sat and told us the specials. Unfortunately, the positive remarks about this trip end there. The waiter (young guy with glasses and braces, did not catch his name) did not seem to listen to or understand anything we asked. I was with a person with a gluten allergy. We heard about the wing special and the first question we had was if the wings were gluten free. He told us what sauces you could get them with, but could not answer if they had any breading. Instead of finding out, he told us they did not have breading. I saw a table nearby and asked them if the wings had breading and they said yes. We tried to stop another waiter there to ask about the wings, hoping that another waiter would understand such a simple request, but he then grabbed our waiter, implying that this waiter knew even less than ours. We asked our waiter if he could ask if the wings could be made gluten free. He came back and told us that the wings had a flour breading, and that they could not be made otherwise (which he did not ask I’m sure). We each ordered margaritas. He asked if we wanted salt and ice. One person said no ice, but yes to salt. He came back with the exact opposite, no salt but with ice. Fine, didn’t feel like asking. When ordering the second margarita, we all reiterated the fact that the person did not want ice, but did want salt (it was repeated 3 times, we counted). He came back with a marg that had ice and no salt. We promptly told him that was incorrect. He came back with ice and salt, still incorrect. We started to get upset and repeated the order, sending it back a third time!!!! Finally he came back with a drink that had salt on a small portion of the rim and no ice. I noticed that another table of his was having issues and they even went to the kitchen to ask for something. We asked before we even ordered if we could have separate checks. Waiter said yes. At the end of our stay, he handed us split checks, not separate checks. At that point we just wanted to leave so bad we didn’t care. The food was great and the specials seem great, but I cannot see myself coming back to this restaurant with how bad our service was. While we were eating, a manager asked how things were, but at the time we were still convinced things were turning around. I wish we would have said...

If I could give zero ⭐ out of five, I would definitely do it in a heart beat. I know it sounds very frustrating and upsetting to read my review but here me out.

Our friend's reservation time and date was Friday (February 19, 2022) at 7:00 pm with 11 people. And take not she booked this reservation "last week". So no excuse that they're not prepared for what's to come. We got their exactly at 7:00 and the "manager" told us that we're late and then another person told us that we were half an hour early. The guy was giving us "annoyed" vibes, to the point it felt like we're not welcome at all. And so we waited for a hot minute, to realize that they could just set up the tables upstairs for us. The tables upstairs was like going a dessert. It literally felt like we're burning. We asked the guy to turn on the fan counless times. Only an hour in he told us that he truned up the AC. We ordered food at 8pm (an hour in waiting) and the drinks with plastic cups came half an hour later (8:30pm). We waited and waited for our food to arrived. Finally our food can out at 9:30pm, the food was disappointing.. extremely disappointing. Veggie tacos filled with fresh frozen veggies. While our friends eating food, they all had that look of "disappointment and fraustration. (Keep in mind most of our friends are Mexican raised). So food wasn't great. Fast forward after dinner some of our friends ordered 2 rounds of tequila (22 shots). Our server decided to drink with us and still charged us. Great.. just great. We wrapped up everything and our bill came out with $720 including a 20% tip, as there requirement. Over all it was the most disappointing experience ever. And to remind you the server took 2 shots of tequila and still charged us for it.

Never coming back here. It was a huge...

I've been a regular at the State St location for 10 years. Went to Kinzie location the other night and had a terrible experience. ($67 for one order of fajitas with extra steak and 2 margaritas.) They took forever to come to the table. Never told us that they weren't using menus, and how to find them. Asked for fajitas with extra meat for my mom and I to split. Asked for extra red peppers. There were about 4 red pepper slices when it arrived, steak was fatty and definitely not a double order of it, and they only gave us 4 tiny 4.5" tortillas. I asked again if we could get some extra red peppers, and also some more tortillas. Also said, "oh, and can we get some chips and salsa? Or just salsa for my fajitas?" They brought us 4 more tiny tortillas, red peppers and chips and salsa. I had 2 margaritas as well. We had to catch the waiter to ask for the check. When it arrived, there were $10 worth of "extras" we were charged for, including chips and salsa, the extra tortillas, red peppers, and meat. I totally understand the charge for extra meat. However, my in TEN years of being a loyal customer at both restaurants, I've NEVER been charged for chips and salsa!! Or extra peppers or tortillas! (And the tortillas have never been so small!) When we calmly asked, the manager was downright rude and dismissive. Told us the price was on the digital menu and he didn't care that I've never seen these charges before. Then I saw that I was also charged for a full price margaritas because it was put in to the register ONE minute past happy hour. The manager was just awful. Customer service, food and drinks have gotten steadily worse over the last few years. I've had similar experiences at this location the last few times I've been. I won't be back after being...
