This was my 2nd time to visit the egg roll factory. I live in Evanston (which was an 45 min drive) So I decided to place my order online. Online said it would be an 1:47- 2:00 pm pickup time. I arrive at 2:25 nothing was done. As a matter of fact they didn’t even check to see if they had any online orders. So mind you my order was about $100 so we had over 15 egg rolls to make. I had to be back on the Northside soon because I was serving these at a party for Happy Hour Friday evening. So I had to wait another 20 mins for them to prepare my online order. The mgr never apologized, never took any accountability, Never offered to reconcile the mistake in any way. So as I was leaving I decided to ask if I can get some free sauces for my wait time and the mistake not having my order ready ( sauce is $0.50 btw ) and was told NO. Mind you we had a very large order and still not 1 free sauce. So fine I ended up buying $5 worth and the only thank you or even acknowledgement of mistake was the cashier working the front. He was the only saving grace. I try to support black owned businesses on the south and west sides often. But this will be my last time for this establishment. Because even the quality of the eggrolls have went down. The Taco and Cheeseburger was dry. However I am not a hater the Mac n cheese and Peach Cobbler was fantastic!!! Italian beef was delicious as well! The buffalo chicken wasn’t very...
Read moreThe food here is good! The atmosphere does need some work. The new owner said he just took the place over from his father and has done a few renovations since but still got more work to do. Great prices and pretty fast made to order.
All the eggrolls look about the same on the outside. They are all well sized and a majority of them are $5.45.
Jerk chicken egg roll. I've only had jerk chicken a few times but this was good and had that kick. Paired with the spicy sweet and sour definitely left a good tingle on my tongue in the best possible way.
Jerk shrimp egg roll. Like the chicken the shrimp is just as good. Only thing I would call out is it needs a few more pieces of shrimp as they sink to both ends. But it was delicious.
Italian beef eggroll. I did ask my self "why eggroll a Italian beef?" But I enjoyed it more then I thought I would. Also has cheese inside.
Chicken parmesan egg roll. It was good but I could go without it next time. The other 3 are just better in my opinion. But it wasn't bad at all.
Red sauce is spicy sweet and sour sauce. Green sauce is cilantro sauce. This is only 2/4 sauces they offer. The red adds a good amount of heat to the eggrolls. The great is more creamy and savory. Loved both,...
Read moreOMG!!! Y’ALL!!!! So I visited The Egg Roll Lady for Lunch. It’s a takeout spot on the West Side. I ordered the Philly cheese egg roll, the jerk chicken egg roll, and a slice of Banana pudding cake. They cook to order and it only takes a few minutes. When I got back to the office, I popped that bag open on my desk, opened the rolls up and they were divine. They were crispy on the outside and the fillings were ABSOLUTLEY AMAZING! The Jerk chicken eggroll tasted like an entire jerk chicken meal in a small snack. I could taste jerk spices throughout every bite. And there was a hint of sweetness that I couldn’t quite put my finger on. It packed so much flavor. I was very surprised. The Philly cheese eggroll was a delight. The Philly sauce was sooooo creamy! It almost upstaged the beef. And the beef was well-seasoned. It was the perfect blend. The Banana Pudding Cake was so moist! The icing was like a whip cream blend with a light banana flavor. There appeared to be a sort of banana pudding mousse between the cake layers. I inhaled that cake. Everything was absolutely delicious. If you’re ever in The West Side, stop by the Egg Roll Lady. She...
