Jersey Mike's Subs — Restaurant in West Des Moines

I ordered a Philly cheesesteak with the soft drink. The soft drink machine was out of syrup and did not stop running. The girl from the counter simply told me to push back the metal part behind the dispenser which ended up with me getting my hand soaked. I was with a co worker who had ordered at the same time as me and he finished his food while I was still waiting. It took 30mins for my regular sandwich to be done. When I open it, there were onions slices that were so hard that I couldn’t bite through or break them when they slid out of the sandwich. A sandwich that is ALWAYS made with chopped onions…. I also asked for jalapeños that were not there. I didn’t complain at time the time because I had 15mins to eat and be back to work nor did I have the confidence that they would make it correctly. It is yet another establishment where you tip before getting your food made only to have it come out poorly made and wrong by high schoolers who would much rather stand around in the back cackling than actually...

I’ve never been to Iowa before and the staff here made me feel so welcome. A black gentleman was the first staff member to great me. He had a welcoming presence about him that was infectious. Very friendly and polite. A white female with red hair also assisted me. Equally as nice and welcoming. I didn’t see name tags or get their names before I left but I hope they receive the recognition they deserve. They made my day being so kind.

Food was great. Prepared fast and all requests were honored. I purchased the Number 9 Club Supreme on Rosemary Loaf with the bread scooped out. Superb amount of meat for the price.

Store was clean and tidy. A small thing to note was that my napkin dispenser did not have any napkins in it. No big deal, I grabbed a few from the table in front of me that no one was sitting at. All good.

I was so excited to get Jersey Mikes after having it in Colorado multiple times. I went through the drive thru and asked for a sec to look at the menu. I could hear the worker sigh, like I was inconveniencing him. After about 30-45 seconds I began to order but nobody replied. I waited another minute or two and then heard a different worker respond with “now we’ll need a sec.” I thought this was odd, but oh well I know food service can get busy. I waited 2-3 minutes then finally I was able to order. I pulled to the window and sat for a minute waiting for someone to open it. I got my drink, paid, and had my sandwich shoved to me without a word said. No greeting or have a nice day. I was the only car in the drive through the whole time at 11:00 am. I understand being busy, but it is never okay to be rude to a customer. I will not...
