Kachina Southwestern Grill — Restaurant in Westminster

Stayed at the hotel ate here. My barbecue burger I ordered one hour before they closed. The burger was dry the onion rings. I couldn’t even understand what they were. They were so mutilated. The cheese was super thin, super paper thin and I didn’t taste any barbecue sauce at all. After eating half of it, I stopped you the rest of the dog. My steak fries Were soggy and I could not finish them. I ordered it on the app and the app said it was ready and to check in with the hosts. I stood there a good 34 minutes, no hostess so I went to the bar and told him I was there for pick up and he looked in the kitchen and said oh it’s getting ready I said, but my app said it’s ready. So he walks back there and goes. Oh here you go. I didn’t appreciate hanging all that high end prices for low end food, and service.

It’s weird how every couple hours they change the menu. That seems stressful for everybody. Just pick a simple menu it’s not that hard.

I had the happy hour tacos because I couldn’t get real food at 2:15 in the afternoon. For almost $30 I got three tacos the size of my palm. They were so tiny so tiny. I thought they were for toddlers. And guacamole with chips that is outrageous for portion size. Those tacos were bomb though.

They are open right now as they open at 7 AM, but you can’t order anything but kid food and bar beverages on the app.

So today I walked down there thinking maybe breakfast will be better. Nope my Chicken sausage is so dry. I can barely get it down. My home fries look like the steak fries from the night before and they look pretty dead. I got my breakfast to go. I got scrambled eggs and they gave me a bunch of ketchup packets, but it’s a southwestern grill. You would think I could get some sauce? Just like the rest of the food the eggs are pretty bland, dry. I had a side of fruit and I got a quart of fruit 75% melon melon is a garish lol But whomever cooked my toast, you did an excellent job that was really the best...

I have been 3 times, the first time was so amazing great food, good service. My second time it was very busy so I sat at the bar thinking I would get great service. Unfortunatley I did not. It took way too long for the bartender to get my order. He seemed busy and overwhelmed but was not friendly at all. To get my second drink and to make a food order he ignored me again forever. Finally he took our order. We finished our second drink and were waiting pretty long for an appetizer cheese board and a salad which really shouldn't take longer than 30 min and it did. The bartender realized he hadn't checked on us for a while and when he did he didn't make eye contact, so I understood he knew he had screwed up. We had to ask some other waiter to check on our food he said he would, and then went and stood at the end of the bar. Our appetizer salad came out at the same time. Kachina covered the cost of our meal because of bad service, which was very nice of them. So I returned last night for an app and some drinks. The same bartender was there and extremely non friendly. It was happy hour he charged us full price we asked about it and he seemed to know what he did and was very put out that we asked about the price. The cocktail waitress never paid attention to us. We are young so I don't know if that's why we weren't taken care of but I make good money and I went there with the intention to spend alot. I hope they improve service I really enjoy the food and cool drinks but that bartender has a terrible attitude. If you go for a drink, pick a better bartender than the medium height man, brown eyes, with short brown messy spiky hair. If you aren't older or look like you have money he doesn't seem to have...

Only giving it 2 stars because of the scallop ceviche. We sat for AT LEAST 15 minutes watching server after server ignore us. Our server finally gave us water after passing us 3 times and not saying a word. No apology, just went into what he could get us. We brushed it off as perhaps he was busy, etc... We ordered the scallop ceviche.... delish!!!!! for an appetizer. Another server brought it to us, our server nowhere to be seen. Our waters went dry... we sat and waited for a refill. Then I ordered a chicken dish that said was smoked chicken. Turned out to be a bowl of soggy red tortilla chips with a tiny bit of chicken, and some red sauce at the bottom. Nothing else. Isn't that naked nachos??? IDK I don't have a word for what it was. It wasn't good. I digged around for the chicken bits, and it left a lot to be desired. He ordered two tacos, shrimp and duck confit. The duck taco was pretty good, but the weird thick shell was dripping with grease. We sat and waited after our disappointing lunch and service for our check.... 10 more minutes rolled by, and I looked throughout the restaurant, there were 3 servers, and 5 tables full. We had to ask another server for our check. I left a tip b/c I've been in food service, but I shouldn't have. this literally was the first time I've Left less than a 15% tip (and that service was BAD) anywhere. It was that terrible of service. I will most definitely not be back, and just find a recipe for those scallops. If anyone is actually reading this, I would suggest sitting at the bar, as the bar had the most people and he looked as if he was at least engaging his guests.... just don't...
